So madoff, why does everyone put up with it?
There were riots over poll tax, but now nothing over council tax, government corruption, waste, etc.

Where is everyone---drawing the dole and living on benefits?

don't unerstand why people are buying shares in this climate. sooooo much uncertainty. g20 will be a farce. so much spare capacity. so much very very bad data. sell guys, sell all the shares when you can. after 20 odd % rise from the bottom, the market is long overdue for a nice sharp correction. why trust bob diamond? what does he know about his company. goodwin, hornby, diamonds are all like sugar's apprentice. little idiots who knows next to nothing about economics but pure good sales people.

"Barclays chief Bob Diamond says bank has capital to ride out storm
Ian King and Patrick Hosking

Barclays will not need to raise new capital for at least six months, Bob Diamond, the bank's president, said last night.

Mr Diamond, who runs Barclays Capital, the investment banking division, said he was confident that the bank had enough capital to withstand the deteriorating economy.

The timescale outlined by Mr Diamond is significant. If Barclays raises fresh capital before June, its backers from Abu Dhabi and Qatar would be entitled to receive a greater number of shares for the £7.3 billion investment they made last year without needing to stump up more cash.

The news came as Barclays confirmed that CVC Capital Partners, the private equity group, was the bank's preferred bidder for its iShares exchange-traded funds business. "

So far as I know, the one academic who predicted the meltdown, two years ago, and gave detailed analysis for his conclusions, was/is Nouriel Roubini of NY University.

Catch him on Fox News and CNBC.

Sandy Chen?
Channel 4?

Who would waste time bothering to watch either?

Go to CNBC for real analysis and the views of people who are at the top of their professions. Panmure Gordon wouldn't get a look in and as for the likes of Charles Stanley, they would be laughed out of town.
