Is Britain going back to the 1970s? Even under the Conservatives in 2022, the Financial Times was warning we were in danger of reliving that ‘relentlessly awful decade’. Since Starmer’s accession to power, the similarities have become only clearer.
Millionaire hotelier Rocco Forte drew the same comparison in the autumn, saying we’d ‘come full circle’ and that the new Labour government was ‘doing a lot based on socialism, but not a lot on common sense’. ‘They talk about growth, but everything they’re doing is anti-growth,’ he added. A petrol giant in Norway has announced a ban on fuel sales to all US forces following Donald Trump's treatment of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House, it has been reported.
Norwegian firm Haltbakk Bunkers announced it will stop providing fuel to all American forces in Norway as it declared "No fuel to Americans!". The firm posted on social media to declare its support for Zelensky as it dealt a hammer blow to US President Trump following the heated spat televised from the Oval Office. |

Talking of Barclays...if anybody is interested in some stats/observation...Barc was trading between 200p - 300p from 2009 - 2016...8 year cycle...in 2016 new trading range of 100p - 200p started discounting the Covid drop in 2020...this 8 year cycle trading range since 2016 should come to an end some time this year 2024...it either goes below 100p or goes above 200p on new trading range...considering the market/shares are distorted...US mega techs making new all time highs while so many UK shares are at muti year lows...the switch over...you cannot have bull market without banking sector... |

US played key role in ousting Ukrainian president in 2014, researcher says

BELGRADE, January 31. /TASS/. The US played a key role in the toppling of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich in 2014 in order to install an anti-Russian regime, Jeffrey Sachs, a UN expert on sustainable development goals, said in an interview for Serbia’s Politika.
"The [US] neocons continued to push NATO towards expansion, so the confrontation gained momentum in 2014, when the US played a key role in toppling the Ukrainian President, who adhered to neutral positions, in order to install an anti-Russian regime later," Sachs said.
The expert noted that the course of NATO expansion to Ukraine and Georgia was adopted by US President George Bush Jr. back in 2008. According to the researcher, the events of 2008 - the five-day war, caused by Georgia’s attack on South Ossetia - indicated that "this is not a wise way to go."
On February 21, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine voted to remove President Yanukovich from office amid mass riots that took the lives of several dozen people. Under the Ukrainian Constitution, preterm cessation of the Presidential office is possible only in the case of resignation, inability to fulfill duties due to bad health, impeachment or death, but none of these conditions were met. The same day, the Ukrainian parliament set a new date for presidential elections - May 25, 2014. The elections were won by Pyotr Poroshenko, but, before that, Rada Speaker Alexander Turchinov acted as the interim president.
After the coup, Ukraine embarked on an anti-Russian course and passed a number of laws that limit the rights and freedoms of the Russian-speaking population of the country, which led to a civil war in Ukraine’s southeast. |

The American people are sick of funding death and destruction with their money and weapons. It's OVER. New administration. Zelensky isn’t dealing with a weak United States Leader anymore, eager to blindly throw $300+ billion..Europe is not going to fund the war, or put boots on the ground to fight the Russians in Ukraine. Zelensky, should take a deal now, and start to rebuild, or Russia may end up taking the whole country. Some people just can't see when the tide has changed.
