Bango buying opportunity

Aim-traded Bango (BGO:217p), a provider of a state-of-the-art mobile payment platform enabling smartphone users to charge purchases made in app stores straight to their mobile phone account, has issued two major announcements since I last rated the shares a buy at 240p (‘Three small-cap stars’, 27 Nov 2017), having first advised buying at 93p ('Bang on the money', 26 Sep 2016).

Firstly, it has partnered Netflix, the world's leading internet entertainment service, to launch direct carrier billing (DCB) to over 12m subscribers in Mexico, thus enabling them to charge their monthly subscription cost to their pre- or post-paid mobile phone bill.

Secondly, and following last summer’s groundbreaking DCB agreement with Amazon Japan, Bango has expanded the use of its platform to provide resale and bundling technology to Amazon, enabling customers to sign-up to Amazon Prime in India through resellers that offer product bundles. India's largest mobile network operator, Bharti Airtel, is the first to make Amazon Prime available as part of a bundled package offered to its customers.

Both agreements are a further validation of Bango’s payment platform and one that’s proving increasingly popular: the annualised end-user spend (EUS) run rate of transactions processed exceeded £400m at the end of 2017, or more than double the level a year earlier. That figure was revealed in a pre-close trading update ahead of the full-year results on Tuesday 13 March. It could prove conservative as analyst Ian McInally of Cenkos Securities is "comfortable with our 2017 closing EUS run rate in excess of £450m", suggesting significant upside.

Furthermore, having hit monthly cash profit break even in November, Mr McInally has not changed his forecasts, which point to a small cash loss of £700,000 in 2017, and a cash profit of £3m this year based on total EUS activity of £592m. If Bango can maintain its EUS growth rate, my models suggest it could be making net profits of £10m by 2020, supporting my 300p target price to value the equity at £200m. I remain a buyer ahead of full-year results on Tuesday 13 March. Buy.

Of course Simon... Why should I be the only one to benefit ? Saying that, I also hold some Bango shares with a Ratio of 1 to 4 versus Boku

Whilst the shared ecosystem benefits argument is often made, I can't help but feel posting their entire RNS here was a rather obvious to attract investors over to Boku where you hold shares, Thomas.

Netflix have just announced Q4 results in which they added over 8m subscribers with over 6m from outside the US. On Bloomberg earlier they said the majority of new subscribers from outside the US came from Latin America although the EU showed good growth. Bloomberg also stated that as part of the increased marketing costs Netflix would be targeting Asia with a focus also on Japan.

As far as RD and New Concepts are concerned, the software specialists in Cambridge appear to be way ahead of the competition.

Being based in Cambridge, Bango is will placed to develop these ideas and have the organisation and resources to put them into practice. However don’t expect them to talk too much about them until after they are implemented. “I man who tells everybody his business, soon has no business.”

This article describes amazons no-checkout convenience stores.

All payments are via the amazon go app which then charges to your amazon account. This would then later have to be paid by the account's holder's credit card (I assume) unless DCB, via Bango, were set up which would make it instant. Just a thought.

By StockMarketWire | Tue, 16th January 2018 - 08:00Equities research analysts at Peel Hunt began coverage on shares of Boku (LON:BOKU) in a report issued on Tuesday. The brokerage set a "buy" rating and a GBX 105 ($1.42) price target on the stock. Peel Hunt's target price suggests a potential upside of 27.27% from the company's current price. Now question is : Will it be reached by end January 2018 or February 2018 ?If Boku Grows, Bango should grow also and vice-versa...

Now for pudding

Due to no details on the contract terms the finacial summary which indicates Bango achieving profit in 2018 takes no account of the India / Amazon deal or I doubt any other of the deals announced over the last 3 months so plenty of upside to come I suspect

So over dinner I have learnt the following

1 The India / Amazon deal is an expansion of the Bango platform beyond DCB

2 Bango get paid even if the resellers offer free periods

3 Resale technology is available in all territories where Bango operate

4 Mobile subscribers in India has reached 975 million

5 Annual India ecomerce spend has reached US$17 billion and will grow 20% per annum

Not even started on pudding yet

Change the 'hxxps' to 'https'.

ADVFN does this automatically when you try to share a link, changes it to 'x' to break the link.
