Horrelich, or anyone for that matter. I have been invited to a dinner presentation next Tuesday 3rd May at Glamis Castle for informal chat with BNC director with some other share holders. I think we have the chance to ask questions so if anyone has any particularl questions they would like asked post them and I will see what I can do. IF!! they are not ridiculous or rude...!! Might be a lot of rubbish but you never know

3 * 12c(11p) and 1 *24c(22p) = 60c(55p)

...which doesn't quite add up :-)

Have a look at the link in post 584 to see how they've split it the last couple of years (differently)

Mildly positive market reaction the Q1 results.Looks like a "slightly less bad than we thought " statement .Mind you , it would be easy to hide a big hole in the middle of those big numbers by a bit of creative accountancy, slip a year end or something.Hopefully not but it is hard not to be a bit suspicious of all banks this decade.

Hi Anglia

I seem to remember from last year there was a curious wording from the company when again the payment date was on a Sunday which went along the lines of

"By the time the market opens on the Monday the shares will already be ex-dividend"

All I know is that if you want the dividend don't leave it to the last minute

EDIT: I see I've had these since March 2009 so it might have been an announcement from 2 years ago

Adfn gives the ExDiv date as 2/5/2011 (& lol the payment date as the 1/5/2011)
When is/was the ExDivi date?

Announcement Date Type Curr. Dividend Amount Period Start Period End Ex Date Record Date Payment Date Total Dividend Amount
03 Feb 2011 Final EUR 22.88 31/12/2009 31/12/2010 02/05/2011 04/05/2011 01/05/2011 60.00

They don't do XD.

If you've got shares today, you'll get the May 1 dividend

Or possibly more correctly if you have the shares tomorrow as I guess it's not a bank holiday in Spain

From today's Q1 results

Regarding the dividend, Banco Santander Chairman Emilio Botin announced in January that the Group's target is to maintain shareholder remuneration unchanged in 2011 for a third consecutive year at EUR 0.60.

Morning Ken

Total dividend for the year has been 60 cents

Page 13 at

So dividing by 1.13 to get it into sterling and then 7.265 looks about right

EDIT: though you also need to take account of the Spanish witholding tax (14%?)

Hi hollerich, not been on here for awhile as its been so quiet, been dabbling with SOU and watching RRL! :)

Anyway that sounds great, can I ask what your reasoning behind this is ? Is it to do with the banks being upgraded having been under such pressure lately? share price has been a bit flat with dips lately after hovering around the 8 quid mark for so long. I had hoped we had foud a new base to build on.
