privacy coins have an obfuscated block chain, which offers greater privacy to the coins users. governments tend not to like this, which by Greshams law, adds value to the coins.

in theory obviously ;-) ... mr market is the ultimate judge, as ever.

... this is all thinking re: pairs ... market neutral positions can cancel out high vol and run for weeks or longer, but wtfdik! I'm just about coping with the trading demands of mining, let alone discretionary!

I am sticking with the public coins, BTC, ETH backed KYC for now.

the privacy coins are holding up a bit better. double whammy for the others. my bch trade was part of a long path to cash in etn profits. even with the loss it saved on USDT withdrawal fees!

In future I will use XMR for the same thing. It's a bit more stable.

BTC trading range today is between the 50, roundly rejected so far, and the T-line, which is natural support. I'd say a carefully watched long at 10500 is not a bad trade; price goes back below then close it and little lost. Other coins look like they've started the next leg down.

daily chart and 4hr chart both are supportive. for me this drop came a little late. hence why its a bit messy now.

i want to close and see what happens at 9900ish. it has to break hard under that to get me back short.

here and now it appears to be about the poc. break that and we will see 9900 imo.

I think a lot depends on your longer term views. I trade the chop but I'm holding core crypto positions with at least a year or two ahead in mind. My targets are derived from EW and they are very much higher than current, but I equally accept it may all go south! The real skill will be picking the longer term winners from the myriad sh1t coins. I'm going for a scatter gun approach!

I think that most major cryptos will be "harvested" in the next few days. Breaking the upside momentum at the resistance levels and creating short term false down trend in order to fill the bags. But it will be hard to reenter if one sells as each moment it can go up. but agreed wtfdik

Ew is indeed a black art! But most analysis I see don't even follow the form rules, let alone the guidelines! If you look at the BTC daily you can really see why 11800 was rejected at first attempt and why holding 10700 is significant. Massive congestion area.

I've ditched the BCH ... eth is sick as hpcg says. FTT written all over it. As for XRP, 0 is the target, as ever.

... eth and xrp have almost identical recent charts, an abc correction, now turning down, into a potential 3 rd wave down ... EW is such a dark art, so many alternative counts.

Just looking at the wave count of the minor cycle from 8500, current down wave looks like 4 so if this sessions low holds then wave 5 should take us out of channel. Let's see what happens at the 21ema. A fascinating day in prospect :)
