Whoever made that ridiculous chart must have the mental age and ability of a four year old. Its completely made up and nonsensical.

reason for the rise is the same as it always is mcb, more buyers than sellers!

this period of whatever we like to call it has been a boon to the hordes of millennials who studied computing, long sidelined as nerds with no social skills theyve finally cashed in on all that know how and made serious coin, prolly why its so popular with pasty asians and eastern europeans blokes :P

first p2p currency? btc was the first of so many ideas!

... blockchain
... pow tokens / minting
... p2p voting
... decoupling from fiat

the reason for btc rise is easy - it's the first global token, if one doesn't include the usd of course and maybe the pound before that. maybe first easy accessible global currency.

hmm first internet currency maybe better.

unfortunately amongst the boosters theyre all actually refering to DLT/blocjchain which is great, and not bitcoin tokens as titled which are largely useless and unnecessary

this only goes back 3 years and only looks at bitcoin tokens, doesnt give anywhere near the perspective this historical token mania deserves, ndx is higher now tho ;)

tp - absolutely a fork is exactly as monetarily inflationary as the government saying the number of fivers is strictly limited, but everyone with a fiver will be given a new four pound note. Unless the crypto community treats the forks as worthless, in which case why do they bother; to sell to the next bunch of mugs is the only conceivable answer.

hpcg 3632 lo!

spuds any grad can see the entire capitalist system we use is faulty, but meanwhile back in reality theres no burden having a large fiat bank balance is there and more importantly fiat, gold and crypto arent the only options either, but for speculating a great deal can be made by simply timing between them, which is my mo :) i maintian that idealistically the crypto theory is great, but i dont think any of the current crop of tokens will take it to a level its (was) currently priced at

alexx back at the sticks wrong end again??? going down from $50??? correct me if im wrong, but even if only 1 coins left unminted having an unlimited number of 1 coin forks theoretically allows an unlimited number of coins?

china dont be daft WBs just another loser dinosaur bitter at missing out

This is definitely bubble stuff.

We are now seeing multi-forks (some pre-mined with subsequent riches for a few), leveraged trading offered on unregulated exchanges often leading to complete loss to the customer and many multi-million dollar 'ICO's' of often unknown companies with questionable goals.

"I can say, almost with certainty that cryptocurrencies will come to a bad ending."

Warren Buffett is so right!
