05/1/2004 19:48 | david2000 I feel the same, only comfortable on the short side. Cant remember when we had a real good tanking in normal volume. When it happens it will be swift, CNBC and Bloomberg, will pull the bull commentators and wheel out the bears as per usual, I can hear the headlines now, 'too much too soon, a pull back is healthy etc' | twotanks
05/1/2004 19:48 | I'm just desparate for a profit Gausie, will take a look. If it looks as bad as lloy did about a month ago!!! I'll still be nervous!! MFI teetering on the brink of going back to a £1 too... | david2000

05/1/2004 19:44 | conspiricies, conspiricies...could they not just be after banking a few quid after seeing their holdings half over the last few years?... | leeshindig
05/1/2004 19:42 | david - agree with the sentiment. But I think jeroo's point is more to do with timing than diversifying - why should an insider sell now whilst his shares are rising and there's so much upside to come? Or is there? ..... | gausie
05/1/2004 19:40 | I know what you mean Gausie... but I've been thinking that since 9000!!! If only... :-(( Over Xmas heard an interesting theory on Insider selling on CNBC from a Deutche Bank analyst. It actually made sense too. Basics, Directors in the 90's held large quantities of stock in own company, and didnt sell. Watched thier paper wealth just keep going up. Then when Bear market hit, it crippled alot, especially in Tech. So, his argument is that they are now basically diversifying their portfolio. Selling a chuck of their own stock. Re investing in a defensive/ hedge, to protect themselves. But most still own vast quantities of own Company. The directors are only basically doing what most investors do ( ourselves excluded!!!:-)) Having a diversified protfolio, in case of rainy days ahead. I can see the sense behind it more now. So I am not sure I personally see that particular fact as a main bearish indicator. There are plenty of othersa out there though... any thoughts? | david2000
