27/3/2012 22:30 | Good test tomorrow if this does not price in the Ex Divi . Stavros | stavros28
27/3/2012 22:07 | I have my shares with Selftrade with an auto re-invest of divs, I must check if they will do it for AZEM, as they didn't for my Cookson shares that are in the Ftse 350 (I think) | robertfaulkner
27/3/2012 21:52 | RF OK. I like the sound of this company and the market is attractive. However I think that Laird and Spectris are better macro bets in this sector. All the best. | honiton
27/3/2012 21:49 | Honiton, I think you'll find the original AZEM company has been going for many many years, before the IPO(it's not a start up that went public so the owners can get out and leave the company with no entrepreneurial fire) Ex dividend day tomorrow so share price should be down 13.5p (div $0.085, eight and a half US cents,I hope I multiplied it the right way) EDIT: just looked again and maybe it'd 8.5 Euro cents which is only 7p Ho Hum I've just lost £452 if it's Euros. At least the share price won't go down so much | robertfaulkner
27/3/2012 21:47 | Goldman like them or hate them ,very good at the research. Rolls Royce target was miles ahead of others and its made me 25% in 12 months. Goldman had it down for 925p 12 months ago view the chart. Only me and another on the thread very strange. | stavros28
27/3/2012 20:59 | Had a look at this one. Corporate governance issues and legislative/corporat Avoid on those grounds alone. ANy knock back e.g. sector warnings likely to be magnified (maybe somewhat unfairly). | honiton
27/3/2012 20:55 | Rob - post 631 - nice find. Stavros - Was reviewing my portfolio and looking at shaking it up - the GS target has meant this is gone from a yellow card as well as the nod over 3 quid. Cheers HH | hopeful holder
27/3/2012 17:29 | Letter from the gods of Tech 14th March ! AZ Electronic Materials: Goldman Sachs upgrades from buy to conviction buy, target raised from 380p to 440p. Could be the target. Stavros | stavros28
27/3/2012 16:53 | We have a buy signal on it Rob. 319p the last resistance important to smash through that. Good work Rob Stavros | stavros28
27/3/2012 16:23 | at 4 pm the share price shot up??????? | robertfaulkner
27/3/2012 16:19 | AZEM to buy back and cancel 10% of it's share capital, this should shoot up the price. From EGM news in ADVFN, top of page More info in www.az-em.com Resolution 22: Authority to purchase the Company's own shares In certain circumstances, it may be advantageous for the Company to purchase its own shares. This resolution seeks authority from Shareholders to empower the Directors to make market purchases of up to 38,091,355 of its own Ordinary shares. This represents up to 10% of the current issued Ordinary share capital as at 23 March 2012, being the latest practicable date prior to the publication of this Notice. The resolution sets out the maximum and minimum prices that can be paid for any such purchases. The authority conferred will expire at the conclusion of the next Annual General Meeting of the Company or on 30 June 2013, whichever is earlier. The Association of British Insurers guidance provides that share buy-back resolutions should be passed as a special resolution requiring at least three-quarters of the votes cast to be in favour. However, this is not consistent with the Current Articles and any such resolution would be passed by a simple majority of votes cast. Any purchases of shares made under this authority, including shares previously acquired by the Company and held by it, or by a third party on the Company's behalf, may not have the effect of reducing the net assets below the amount of the subscribed capital plus the reserves which may not be distributed under Luxembourg law or by virtue of the Current Articles. The Directors have no present intention of using this authority and will do so only after careful consideration and taking into account a variety of factors such as market conditions, the overall financial position of the Company, the effect on earnings per share and without prejudice to the equal treatment of Shareholders. It is the Directors' current intention, were shares to be bought back, for them to be cancelled or retained in treasury pending a subsequent sale, cancellation or transfer. Currently, there are no shares held in treasury | robertfaulkner
27/3/2012 09:12 | looking good at this level. Stavros | stavros28
23/3/2012 17:00 | Nice little second day of rise, it did stick it's head above 300p but must be too many limit sells. Monday's another day, another new week. | robertfaulkner
23/3/2012 09:21 | Hi Rob Cookson know it well let me check the tea leafs opps mean charts. Steel/ Iron Ore not good for BHP Billiton one of my fav companies traded it from 200p all the way up over many years. Now the top miner wow that was a ride. Chemical industry on the up all round look at YULE sector in bull phase at the moment. AZEM will go with the flow but thought we might get a pop from Apple figures we need patience . Jesse Livermore said its not your doing that makes money its your sitting. Reminiscences of a Stock Operator top book. Cookson had a good run looking a bit weak last few days but most have. Cookson did a giggle with the stock price from past memory in 2 ceramics also I think. Stav | stavros28
23/3/2012 07:45 | Hi Stavros, I was pleased to see we managed a small rise at the close after a down day for Azem and Ftse. China steel/iron production being down has upset my Cookson (steel foundry chemicals) shares, is Azem less effected by China's population buying ipads/flatscreen TV's etc than the west buying them (effect on Azem sales/profits) | robertfaulkner
22/3/2012 20:50 | Yes we still have consolidation . STAV | stavros28
20/3/2012 09:05 | Building support and consolidation not a problem. Buyers in at the close yesterday. 21/3 Stav | stavros28
20/3/2012 08:37 | Shorters coming in then imo. | choppa
19/3/2012 13:20 | Bob that's when we bought. Buyers came in and bingo it was off predicted with a signal on the software chart. MM just tested that lower level to get stock on the cheap! Had that on Flickr but taken it off now. Stavros | stavros28
19/3/2012 12:57 | Interesting stock. Seems to move quite rapidly when it wants to. Any long term observers know what caused the drop in october? | bob monkhouse
19/3/2012 07:49 | Yes bit of patience required I think Choppa. Stavros chilled out Bull | stavros28
17/3/2012 14:49 | Hope so Stav i really do. | choppa
16/3/2012 07:59 | New Pad Got to show through in sales for AZEM! | stavros28
14/3/2012 09:07 | XB Its a black box that crunches numbers to do with excessive volume, relative strength to the FTSE, price point and how long it stays at that level Iam only the pilot I have not built the plane. It works and is a new dimension in trading software. You can see the first signal we had in the left hand side of the chart a blue line.( when we bought) Red for short or its hit the buffers and hold to see what happens( when we took partial profit) and white signal that was generated last night on the download. We are sitting pat at the moment and letting the software do the work. Think this will consolidate at this level for a while and go ex Divi and give us another run but patience and signals required. We need this new White signal to turn Blue then Yellow and its fill your boots time. Stavros | stavros28
14/3/2012 08:40 | Wow - good job Goldman! Stavros, I'm not quite sure how to depict your chart. What metric is generating the signals? Volume contrasted with RSI? XB | xandeebee |
