20/2/2012 11:01 | Hi Stavros, can you put any share into your system or do you need to add lots of data(taking you ages)? I'm asking because one of my other shares is Cooksons (CKSN) I bought at 527p they give a good div (at present) and they are 659p after having a very good run recently. I just wondered if your system can give an instant reading/opinion? Rob | robertfaulkner
20/2/2012 10:34 | Price is looking at 319 short term technicals very high. Stavros | stavros28
20/2/2012 10:01 | Morning Rob Have a red signal on my software for AZEM this morning just updated Friday data. This can be a short signal but results due on the 28th ( next Tuesday) think we are holding at this price point until we have more information. Price is stuck at 307-319 any breach of this level now will be a buy signal but would be a results gamble!! Stavros | stavros28
20/2/2012 09:54 | Well it's through 315p, just a quick burst up another 10p and 320p will be well busted | robertfaulkner
20/2/2012 00:16 | Ftse futures up to 5975 up 70 points looks like a very strong start to Monday, unfortunately AZEM doesn't seem to follow Ftse (good when the Ftse tanks) I'll be watching to see if Stavros's prediction of a good buy signal if Azem can push well through 320p, lets hope so. Interesting times | robertfaulkner
18/2/2012 10:06 | Hopeful The Definitive guide to Point and Figure by Jeremy du Plessis if you want to read a book on the subject . Very clear with UK stock charts as examples. You can also find real time free point and figure on Live charts .com FTSE is a good one to watch. Point and figure charts have no time scale they build by a pre set price change only which depends on the price beining observed. Their is also a technique that allows you to forcast moves going forward as the price action develops. I started with point and figure charts because you can keep them by hand , this gave me a very sensative handle on the stocks I was trading that was in 1986. All the charts developed double top patterns in 1987 so I sold all my holdings because the book I was reading at the time told me to. We all knew what happened in 1987!!!!!!!!!! I had only been trading for about 18 months by then and have never missed a download data day since to keep my data base going for my Indexia software programme. ( point and figure is included in the software) Regards Stavros | stavros28
18/2/2012 01:06 | Stavros - I'd be happy with the top end of your estimateif itn were to happen sooner rather than later! Not sure exactly what a point and figure chart is so i'll "go and figure" what on is.. AZEM - nice steady rise and one im happy to go with the plodding move upwards, mostly. HH | hopeful holder
17/2/2012 09:35 | mm looked like we opened and tested 319 NASDAQ up 1 % yesterday good for tech stocks all round. AZEM got to be viewed as a semi tech. Pre market on the Dow is up 12 first thing now 33. Thats better a pull back getting its self set for the results soon. Stavros | stavros28
16/2/2012 21:30 | Charts are talking to me target 370-430 range on a point and figure chart. Interesting point that got me watching this apart from the fact I had allready bought it on some research I had done was the On Ballance Volume OBV. It went off first in mid December and the price only moved in late December. You will need to overlay the OBV and price to check this out but its a wonderful thing!!!! At the open we need to see this power through 320 to trigger a buy signal it has better strength than the FTSE today but has a consolidation signal which if not broken soon could be a retracement. Stavros | stavros28
16/2/2012 20:28 | nice bit of info Rob - The longer this holds above £3, the more confident i am about the future! | hopeful holder
16/2/2012 15:47 | Rob Most important item it produces for growth is the liquid for Apple touch screen phone and pad among other players in the phone/reader market. Amazon now sell more electronic books than paper, US Army has taken the Apple pad to be used on the battlefield. Lots of growth protential. Its the main player in this area. Stavros | stavros28

16/2/2012 12:44 | AZ Electronic Materials has been around since the 1950s. It takes its name from the photochemical compound diAZo, first developed around 1943 to create photosensitive offset printing plates, then used for photoresists in integrated circuits and now also used in flat panel displays. The company produces high quality, high-purity speciality chemicals and materials for use in integrated circuits and devices, flat panel displays, light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and photolithographic printing. Just in case anybody is interested. I'm also trying to find where their factories and head office is, I'll post it if I can find it | robertfaulkner
16/2/2012 10:17 | XB yes results will dominate price action. When this stock makes a move above its old all time high that is the trigger to buy more. We then have no overhead supply of stock to be sold off by short term holders. Buy high sell higher!!!! Stavros XB still looking for a good signal on my software for you but we must be patient. | stavros28
16/2/2012 10:08 | It's still early doors but these are holding up nicely today which is a good sign. XB | xandeebee
15/2/2012 20:42 | Yeah stav, you've highlighted my concern. AZ wants to go higher but a large sell off in the wider market could cause this to slip back to 300p, especially after such a strong rally. Let's hope we get a decision soon. | xandeebee
15/2/2012 20:19 | Yep guys not a bad day some sellers appeared close to 320 which was to be expected. If we get an EU result of sorts think we will be off to the races. Thanks Rob!! Stav | stavros28
15/2/2012 17:23 | Xand, Stav still has his head attached, he was right a blue day, well forecast Stav, especially as it's been down some of the day. Up another 3p, just keep this up for a month and we are approaching 400p | robertfaulkner
15/2/2012 15:25 | Rob - it's been an interesting few days for the market. The FTSE fell early afternoon due to talks with Greece being delayed (thus default risk increases and investors scale down their equity positions). In my view, mid-caps such as AZ (especially the ones that have performed well recently) are the first to get sold off. On the other hand, maybe a few fund managers decided to shuffle their positions before results! XB | xandeebee
15/2/2012 14:11 | Move your head Stav before the axe falls. What upset Azem at 12 noon, I can see a similar spike down on the FTSE but Azem doesn't normally seem phased by the Ftse | robertfaulkner
15/2/2012 11:47 | Apple Inc. is working with component suppliers in Asia to test a new tablet computer with a smaller screen, people familiar with the situation said, as it looks to broaden its product pipeline amid intensifying competition and maintain its dominant market share. Officials at some of Apple's suppliers, who declined to be named, said the Cupertino, Calif., company has shown them screen designs for a new device with a screen size of around eight inches and said the company is qualifying suppliers for it. Apple's latest tablet, the iPad 2, comes with a 9.7-inch screen. Stavros the research Bull | stavros28
15/2/2012 08:34 | Wow!!!! not so quick Anatole Deibler alias Robert Faulkner we have a gap open closed at 312 opened at 316 and moving. Forget the EU problem listen to what the market is telling you it wants to go up. Have predicted on the options thread about 4 days ago we are headed up 3%. Stavros with a head start | stavros28
15/2/2012 07:52 | I can't believe the Ftse futures are well up when we had (I thought) bad news about EU finance leaders not meeting today to decide to give the money to Greece. So Stav your head should be comfortable on the block | robertfaulkner
14/2/2012 23:02 | MM Technicals have come back a little in the short term but still too high in the longer term( 10 days) we have 2 inside days on my chart which could signal another leg up in quick time. 5 day slow stoch has pulled back to a good level, RSI now 66 from 88 which is a silly level. No volume today but again the bar chart is looking very bullish price action pulling in very tight. Two Dojis are a giveaway MM want this higher and I would guess at tomorrow for more upside possible gap up. Wow Stav puts his head on the block. Stavros | stavros28 |
