30/7/2004 21:34 | Can only just about be bothered to post here actually.....yawn !! So AVM declare a likely increase in resource...there's a surprise. They were afterall putting there money in themselves, so why the "surprise"? Trend is now up and £2 is certainly cheap. 67p is daylight robbery. Sleep well Biswell, Ice, The Berg, Ash, EnergyNRG and all your other "personalities" - I am sure one of them will be correct !! | holdontight

30/7/2004 14:09 | Back from holiday and glad to see Biswell has been looking afer my investment. It looks like Avocet are doing their damnedest to keep any vultures away from any ideas of snapping their Company up on the cheap. A little disappointed that we are not snapping at 90p yet, however that simply means plenty more opportunity to add with my £2 target looking slightly trifling. | ![]() richgit
30/7/2004 13:29 | bis as long as you are ok , that's all that matters. now where are we going for that drink tonight? ;o) | bionicdog
30/7/2004 13:18 | Encouraging exploration news from all three operating areas. Particularly liked the statement "..new discoveries that could add new sources of gold production in the near future". This strongly supports AVM's production targets and makes 300k oz in 2006 look easily attainable. As the share price strengthens I would expect AVM to make another, perhaps larger, North Lanut type acquisition, that could help it towards intermediate producer status (500k oz pa). | ![]() pecker1
30/7/2004 11:44 | Potential for at least 500,000 oz at Bakan, a new prospect 25 km from N. Lanut. From a company that errs on the side of caution in its statements, this is very encouraging. | ![]() mikkydhu

30/7/2004 11:06 | Here is some more symbolism of the number 11:- 911 is the emergency number in the U.S. (like 999 in the U.K.) 9+1+1 = 11 The twin towers form a number 11. Madrid bombings on 11 March 2004, 911 days after '911' 1+1+3+2+0+0+4 = 11 There were 11 bombs in Madrid, 10 of which exploded. The 11th conveniently provided all the info to uncover within days a plot that completely eluded the authorities. MI5 and MI6 .... 6+5 = 11 World War 1 ended on.... 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. Why were the events of September 11 called '911'? We don't call Pearl Harbor 'December 7' or 'twelve seven'. Maybe someone wants the number 11 to stand out. Number 11 is a symbolic number of significance much older than Al Queda. It gives a clue as to who is possibly really running the show. I'm sure BBM/ theberg knows the answer. | jmobrien
30/7/2004 10:45 | Interesting how the market was rather slow to wake up to this latest announcement. I am fully invested (long-term), so did not take the opportunity to fill my boots further on this occasion. Looks good, however. Analysts, brokers and the press, will no doubt be reflecting on what all this means, though I think most people on this board can already tell them! For those with a shorter term perspective the following looks promising, too: According to Investtech: "Is moving within a rectangle formation between support at 56.64 and resistance at 69.57. A decisive break through one of these levels indicates the new direction for the stock. " Looks like this might now be about to happen! Saucepan | ![]() saucepan
30/7/2004 08:56 | Any views on the drilling results? I was hoping for interpretation and categorisation of exploration results by company geologists and engineers such that updated resource/reserves could be quoted in b+w. Quoted gold strikes are high concentrations but are not representative of the whole investigation at any given site. That's not to say, that overall the results aren't good. On first review they appear very satisfactory but I'm a civil engineer without a specialism in the mining side. | ![]() goml

30/7/2004 08:08 | Exploration Update EXPLORATION SUCCESSES ACROSS THE GROUP PAVE WAY FOR INCREASED RESOURCES Avocet Mining is pleased to announce further details concerning the results of the Company's gold exploration in Malaysia, Tajikistan and Indonesia. As highlighted in the Company's recent release of its preliminary results for the year ended 31 March 2004, we have had some notable exploration successes. These have included not only extensions of our gold resources and reserves at existing operations but also new discoveries that could add new sources of gold production in the near future. Now we need Gold to look towards $400 again and with luck the institutions will be flocking. Luck to all. | domwilliams

29/7/2004 11:06 | i'm waiting Biswell for your daily 100 posts on AVM and OXS and all the drivvle u type. U r such a sad case. Is there a good mental hospital for u where u live? I'm holding these for at least 3 years. But i dont fancy reading all your posts each day though so do us a favour and bog off and die | scotinvestor
28/7/2004 19:33 | Bis, Dammit we're not all short term traders about to get frightened out of our positions on a daily basis. Some of us will be holding AVM for years yet and listening to the constant musings of a psychotic gambler just gets tedious. Please start your own 'Short Term Trader' thread so you can play with yourself in peace. And don't forget your box of Kleenex either. JJ. | jeddah jo
