28/1/2021 14:20 | Yes eurofox??? I missed your support earlier but 333p was a reasonable target and you may still be right. | cyberian
28/1/2021 10:55 | just got back from my walk and found it missed my buy order at 333 by just a tad - should be back there soon enough | eurofox
28/1/2021 10:43 | Added again at just under 335p...there will be sunnier days ahead and more normality, and AV. is a credible hold through this rough patch mainly related to Covid-19. I am a little concerned as to events over the next few weeks in the US...the Republican Party need to get a grip of their wild and totally weird element. | cyberian
28/1/2021 09:54 | Bought a few at 335 as seems a tad overdone this correction also is helping get my average price down AV. Is not my favourite share mainly because of poor past management, which I now hope we have put behind us. But it is a steady earner with its very decent dividend which is what is required in these times. | wskill
28/1/2021 09:35 | A vaccine created by French firm Valneva will start large-scale production at a plant in Livingston, Scotland. If the Valneva jab gets full authorisation it will mean the UK has hopes for an astonishing 200 million jabs, more than enough for all its citizens to get both doses required with some left over. Can't come soon enough | mo123
28/1/2021 09:24 | May be worth clarifying trading. My definition is any holding I plan to hold no more than a year. I know some mean day trading, but for me that is just handing over fees and duty. Unless they get taken out or recover to at least 450 Aviva is a long term (years) holding for me. And, for me, range trading makes more sense than guessing tops and bottoms. But each to their own. Interesting update from Pru today. Shows what happens if the market hears 'fund raise'. At least no risk of that for Aviva with all the disposals and current solvency levels. | wba1
28/1/2021 09:02 | Could it be that AB is saving announcements on Asset sales until the Annual Results on 4th March...looks very likely to me If so hopefully, she will make a definitive announcement on Special Dividends Special Div(s) could then be approved at the AGM Decent Trading Results + positive future view 14p dividend, making 21p for year Huge Asset sales: Singapore, France, Poland and Italy Debt Reduction + Special Div of 100p Share Price = +?% | 1robbob
28/1/2021 08:30 | I suspect we'll have a scratchy 4 weeks ahead before the vaccine has a meaningful impact and we eventually start to pull ourselves out of this quagmire. I just hope that we don't do the old 2 steps forward and back by slipping down to 3 quid, get positive news and merely go back to 350p again.spud | spud
28/1/2021 08:26 | Aviva down far less in relation to LGEN since the high's a couple of weeks ago, has the worm turned? LGEN down about 33p AV. down only 11 to 12p | p0pper
28/1/2021 08:21 | Never been any good at trading so its buy and hold and a 6% dividend will do me nicely. It's not as if we have tracked the USA markets on their upward trajectory we have gone in the opposite direction so possibly this could be our day in the sun as a steady defensive stock. | wskill
27/1/2021 21:15 | should be a good trading day tomorrow as well, US stocks falling off their perch | eurofox
27/1/2021 17:47 | Av. Used to be considered defensive share. No choice but to hold mine , negative 25% My MSFT is at an all time high :) | whatsup32
27/1/2021 17:25 | Likewise wba1, still holding my core holding, but I have started to trade as well. | eurofox
27/1/2021 16:07 | Agree, and a few others I can think of! | cyberian
27/1/2021 15:21 | Aviva still has loads of potential upside but the risk of getting caught up in the unfolding dollar death spiral is far to risky atm, gold looks a far better bet with my limited knowledge as it seems to like inflation which the USA is going keep steady at 2% and a bit more, Aviva is a share I'm very tempted to hold but I'll just wish all those brave enough all the best. | hhhold2
27/1/2021 14:52 | I would suggest that in today's climate and covid uncertainty, lean and mean is going to be a lot more important than any short-term growth ambitions! | eurofox
27/1/2021 14:32 | Nah!! had a nice double on SCAPA after a few months wait only...patience is required sometimes. Big names are there to snap-up relative bargains for the future...having said that SCAPA has excellent product presence in ASIA where growth will continue. A 330p price here is still possible but unlikely in my opinion...as Dr.B correctly states one has to look carefully as to how our CEO uses the funds from the expected asset sales...her strategy for following growth is a little light at the moment. However, I think that she and the Board have a plan which hopefully will excite us and the Institutions...a false step and the company could be taken out like my small SCAPA. | cyberian
27/1/2021 14:22 | Short term turmoil as the good ole FTSE gets bilious (again). spud | spud
27/1/2021 14:08 | 330 here we come | eurofox
27/1/2021 13:16 | Glad to be out of this, markets starting to look ugly. | hhhold2
27/1/2021 13:02 | Back to a new covid lows following the broader sweep of FTSE? | eurofox |
