DGW, if memory serves AVG won the rolls royce contract from TCN, was it last year? so interesting to see that they have bought that business from them. I know that TCN (belatedly) set up an operation in China - not sure whether that was manufacturing similar tubing / pipe assemblies.

I wonder if they are limited on capacity, hence the reason for the acquisition, or whether TCN came to them effectively throwing in the towel in that area of competition. All questions for AVG management...

The share price reaction to this morning's RNS is a little severe IMO - they say results will be broadly in line with expections (i.e. slightly lower) and the order pipeline is good. Customers switching product mix is a strange statement given the long lead times that many products produced by AVG have - after all, designs for precision components in aircraft aren't done overnight. So it must be some other parts of the business...

Any of the regulars fancy a trip to meet the management, so we can ask the questions in person?

As for currency weakness, I'm always perplexed when the city marks the share price down of a company when they state this - it's not rocket science to realise that a company that exports a lot and operates in industries not natively denominated in GBP will have currency fluctuations...

Regards

AVG got a good write up today in FT

Have had them in the past but not at the moment and hope to have time to have a good look but appear correctly priced at the moment.

this looks like a classic tree shake by the MMs - since mid April there's only been 4 days where traded volume >100k shares, and it's been well under 50k for all the other days.

Bear in mind that the small cap index has been coming off highs since mid March, and it's easy to see why we've drifted, and the MMs have probably dropped the price today to scare a few punters out of their positions...

Just to cheer shareholders up, looks like Avingtrans put on a good show at Farnborough:

Not quite cheap enough yet for me to consider a top-up, but getting there...

I haven't checked the volumes but it could be a persistent seller - from memory mark slater and helium (a fund) both had large stakes - but then if they're over 3% they would have to notify via RNS...

Richtea, like you I'm a little frustrated, would have hoped that there would have been some good newsflow but it's gone very quiet of late from the company.

Could be MMs flushing out a few weak holders though....

I have a few of these and watching with a little irritation. Am inclined to hold as think they will come good (in the end). It's on a good P/E so must be some value in current price.

It is always a bit worrying when you get such a determined fall on no news, is there some news out there not yet RNSd? I hope not, if not the price should recover wetland we will all be kicking ourselves for not averaging down.

Thanks Brian.

oooops!... down we go again. Not a lot of volume though on the decline, which is perhaps an indicator of midsummer drift. Closing price today will make the decision for me.

why has this been constantly falling for the last 4 months or so? Does anyone have any ideas?

It's reached a point on the chart where I would hope the share price will find some support. If it dips through this I suspect a major reversal of trend could be underway.

Not sure about 'fill your boots' slaccs.. my finger is hovering over the sell button atm.

AVG is a little gem of a company with excellent growth prospects and on a low P/E. I've just topped up this morning @ 152.75 showing on level 2 as a sell. Fill your boots. DYOR.
