18/10/2010 07:17 | So this was known on friday and someone wanted stock at their price hence the mm's manipulation. Well done those who capitalised on that dip. A great start to the week. | codhead1
18/10/2010 07:09 | Launch date set for HYLAS 1 Avanti Communications (AIM: AVN), the broadband satellite operator, is delighted to announce that the HYLAS 1 satellite has safely arrived at its launch site at the European Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana. On site preparations for launch have now commenced and a date for launch upon an Ariane 5 launch vehicle has now been set for 25 November 2010. | goneawol
17/10/2010 21:20 | Look at who has been involved: Really, launching an attack on India's involvement is just silly. There are risks and if you don't like them don't invest but don't try and say it's higher risk because it was tested in India. S | smarm
17/10/2010 14:22 | sco77harris - I think it is 38 consecutive successes over a 6 year period next launch 28.10.10 - good enough for me | ib1905

16/10/2010 18:07 | Comment fron t1ps.com... 'Avanti*-Share Price Comment 1 Days ago (2010-10-15 11:49:57)Print this Article Avanti*-Share Price Comment Avanti Communications* (AVN) shares are down this morning. Some folks are panicking. Panick not! The only bad news is that CEO David Williams won some award at the ghastly AIM awards dinner last night. On a more serious level it seems as if 600p was set as a Stop Loss level by some punters taking a short term view and so a slip through that has triggered a raft of small sales. Back to fundamentals.... I hear from a contact in the industry that the HYLAS 1 satellite arrived safe and sound in French Guyane 2 days ago. I have yet to verify this with the company but if my source is correct - and I believe this to be the case - then Avanti should announce within days an exact launch schedule for HYLAS 1 which should spark renewed interest. I fail to see how on a DCF basis this stock is worth anything at all this side of £10 and my stance at up to £7.50 remains "strong buy."' Pictures from the Awards... | someuwin
16/10/2010 16:09 | wendsworth i think your are being overly pessimistic, it is true we have had a rise on launch information but why any who had wanted to sell due to risk i would of thought will of already done so, also there are a lot of share held by institutions which are holding for growth and will not sell prior to launch. look at how that friday dip got bought back up, im not saying we will rise into launch but im not sure well see below 550. Also i am not worried about India, the CEO is a great guy and im sure he would not cut costs at the risk of having a failed product. | sco77harris
16/10/2010 12:18 | yorgi; Yesterday is a sign of things to come short term. It is understandable for holders who have bought on the way up to in effect underwrite their positions as regards their retained holding. As a result ..one has to anticipate AVN trading in the 500 to 550p range prior to launch. For that reason I wouldn't be 'topping-up' at current levels. If the launch has technical problems , and one poster did compare the satellite with Blue Peter(!)and India isn't renowned for high quality, one has to accept that the share price will probable bomb down towards the 200 to 250p level. I have to confess that the Indian technology side worries me a bit having previously worked out there . Its all about risk and reward ....'simples'!!! | wendsworth
16/10/2010 10:32 | Last week I purchased some mining shares. Whilst not posting on the BB I noticed one of the long termers(lady poster) who stated that she was sorry to see the newcomers posting on the BB. I found this a very strange attitude because both negative and postive views provide a healthy balance and often provide a pointer to a little possible gem and what could lead to another ideal and happy investment. So knnowing that there may be many PI's looking in here, long termers, who know so much about AVN and assist us so much will pernit me to post some links and old articles, which newbies, may not have the time and effort to DYOR!. ;-) Check also the broker concensus level...............
