i reckon after launch some big contracts good send this above and beyond are expectations, if i was invested in the other satellite companies i would be getting it here where the growth potential is far greater.

Realisation of it's potential by more and with launch now confirmed that's enough..... Unless some "big boy" is sniffing around but DW is not going to let go easily or cheaply

There has got to be something else behind this rise because the share price should have consolidated by now. Wonder if the contract with an EADS subsidary has got the blood rushing in some circles ?.

Avanti Communications* (AVN) has announced it has entered into an agreement with Astrium Services to establish a new military and government 'Ka-band' test-bed, based in Stevenage and comprising a laboratory facility which will enable the testing and refining of future military Ka-band system requirements. This will utilise system and terminal capabilities supplied by Astrium and satellite bandwidth on Avanti's Hylas 1 satellite, due to be launched in November.

Avanti considers the high speeds and bandwidths which its Ka-band technology provides as ideally suited for military applications and that this launch will enable the clear demonstration of the opportunities and benefits its satellite technology offers. The move thus portends Avanti's potential in this market which, together with that it has already shown in the residential, enterprise and institutional areas, continues to suggest an exciting future. Although we are already significantly ahead on the 117p 2004 t1p, I continue to expect much more as perceived risks such as launch and further capacity sales are negotiated and the company continues to expand its operations. On any Discounted Cash Flow based model the shares are still very cheap and remain a "strong buy".

Nice one GW - I'm sure that AVN will welcome French investors - indeed all investors wherever they live - and possibly hope to use the Ka Broadband.

A small amount of selling has pegged the share price back a little but it should pick up again later today if it runs true to form.
