Showing my ignorance Yorgi.
For my Uni, the RAE is something else known as the Research Academic Exercise. Like Ofsted for Universities.

All the best,
and thanks once again for the link,
John

The Royal Aircraft Establishment John I was not in the RAF......which became part of DERA and is now QinetiQ. The RAE at Farnborough where the airshow is held and in those days only British aircraft were exhibited as we had an aircraft industry.

Yorgi, did you mean that you worked for the RAF?

Beause the RAE in our place causes no end of hassle.

Thanks for the link. Great programme, really enjoying it.

I have to be honest I'm not quite sure what you mean by that Rogk or more to the point perhaps why you are thinking that.

Fall back came (about 10% from my average sell prices) but I wasn't quick enough. Still as I've said before, a profit is a profit and I still have 22,000 shares. Indicators showing 39.25 as a possible max for today but it's changing all the time plus or minus .50ish.

added - Second chance as I posted.

Well, after I did my post last night I spent some time on BOR. Despite my initial optimism of further rises today and next Tuesday there is a line that just maybe inhibits such a further rise so quickly. I'll have to watch carefully and should there be a retreat below 29ish then 24ish beckons but I'll be out before that happens and rebuy when that 24 'target' is met.

I see my good friend restassured has been at it again. It beggars belief . . .

BOR, however, is my main concern right now so he can go on the back burner.

As also mentioned here, I'm heavily into BPC but a bit like BOR did in May and June, it may be flattering to deceive. I'll try and get a chart up in the next 10 minutes to show the current position . . .

Not quite Cancun, you know what they say Cancun, you're as young as the ...............................!

If your interested in the days when we we developed and built great military aircraft there is some brilliant footage in the programme.

Slightly off topic guys and gals but in case any of you are interested and haven't seen the programme it is must to watch if you're interested in the days when Britain Ruled the Skies.....Well worth watching a brilliant programme in my opinion and having worked in the RAE for 30 years saw some of the later aircraft in development and flying. From the Meteor to the TSR2 !

Why am I relating this? Well not because BOR have done well today, more because charting doesn't always work as exampled above. And this relates to AVN because this afternoon. I came very close to selling half or so of the shares I bought earlier this week. It's only the lack of volume that stopped me.

Ermm because TA is no better than chance.

This screenshot taken in the early afternoon when AVN was up and consequently the MACD was green. Now that it's slipped back to virtually last nights close, the MACD has reverted to red, though the moving averages remain more or less unchanged. Day indicators now all neutral and the price line is flat and not rising.

I mentioned BOR several times here. It looked a good 'chart buy' from mid-May through June and I'd bought 18,000 in three trades but I sold 10,000 in two sales in the second week of July when it fell below a support line for a second time in three days and that line by then had looked like becoming resistance. (There is actually a reference by me to a price for 5,000 on the BOR board - post 10858 - at that time). Those sales were made at about a 10% loss. Of, course, about 5 days later, I wished I'd sold them all when the drill results were announced and the remaining 8,000 shares lost 75% of their value in minutes. My comment at the time on the BOR board was 'wack, wack oops'- or something like that.

Over the next ten days or so after the fall, I watched as the MACD went back towards positive and in the first week of August, I made three purchases totalling 36,000 shares using roughly the money I'd re-couped from the 10,000 sale.

Why am I relating this? Well not because BOR have done well today, more because charting doesn't always work as exampled above. And this relates to AVN because this afternoon. I came very close to selling half or so of the shares I bought earlier this week. It's only the lack of volume that stopped me.

Incidentally, someone (don't worry, I won't mention who / you) sent me a PM and asked why I'd bought two lots of 1309 this Monday. Well it's actually a date. But it also served to show that I am again a holder here because I put the second buy quantity up 1 minute before the purchase went through and appeared on the trades screen. But I haven't answered why. Well it's an approximate date at which my software said (at that time) a sell might be on the cards. But nothing is ever set in stone and things may change and this time tomorrow I might have added.

Going back to BOR, they went up 50% or so today which means I'm now about break even. Paradoxically, my charts for BOR have now become less useful so I have to use a different sort of judgement. It's called common sense tempered by don't be greedy.

I'll probably sell in four trades of 6000, 8,000 plus 2 others. (It's just a plan not a decision). But each sell will go into FOGL. When will I sell? Certainly not tomorrow there should be another rise and I expect yet another on Tuesday after the long weekend. I'm also aware that FOGL will probably rise in unison with RMP . . .

Change of subject - I have said before that there are a number of people on the two AVN threads I contribute to, who are intolerant and blinkered.

I know quite a lot of you 'from the other side' read this thread and some of you (both publically and privately) have actively encouraged me to post my charts there. For that I thank you. But I am aware I'm not liked with a vengeance by two posters at least, who have the habit of saying something, getting it wrong, getting challenged about it, ignoring the challenge, moving the goal posts, getting challenged again, then saying something on a different matter then ignoring all requests for 'proof' or an explanation. One of these two has on at least two occasions 'quoted' me as saying / predicting things that I haven't said and then ignored my request to 'cut and paste' or say where they saw the quote.

In a more liberal time this was described as 'being economical with the truth'. I call a spade a spade and it's lying.

Finally I was going to apologise for yet another lengthy 'rant' but in truth you needn't come here if you're not interested in my charts or don't like what I say. And I shan't be posting on yorgi's board ever again after our little spat of this afternoon. So a result for yorgi if nothing else.
