10/10/2011 00:49 | It has been well publicised that there has been a bear raid on AVN, the shorters are well ahead at the moment but at some point to realise a profit they are going to have to buy back in and I think that's what we seeing at present some short covering | blefh182
09/10/2011 19:37 | Anybody found anything in the weekened papers following the results? | ![]() greyseal
09/10/2011 17:09 | It's hard to short a successful company and if you look at the decline in the share price of AVN over the past year, it cannot be attributed solely to the public shorting campaign by EK. If only it were that easy to make a share go in any desired direction by taking a modest spreadbet position and then stating your case (right or wrong) on a public bb, everyone would be at it and we'd all be rich. Surely the truth about AVN is that it got ahead of itself in the excitement of the launch of Hylas 1 and then fell back on the realisation that there was both a time-lag and risk attached to the anticipated revenues, compounded by the shorting campaign and simply terrible markets which have devastated many other perfectly good companies. If you believe in AVN, as I do, hang on in there and it'll all come right in due course as revenues start to flow. | ![]() jeffian
08/10/2011 14:43 | That's a very odd view of how the stockmarket works! If you'd made a stonking profit, would you be offering to share it with whoever you bought the shares from? | ![]() jeffian
08/10/2011 14:19 | he has killed my wealth.for his own benefit. hope he gets whats coming and more. | peterpowell21
07/10/2011 15:15 | Well said Standish, I'm no fan of SC but would wish him no ill no more than I would anyone else that I don't agree with. | ![]() yorgi
07/10/2011 15:08 | Despite everything he has said and done with regard to Avanti I don't wish any ill towards EK.Unless he has contravened FSA rules he has merely to answer to his conscience as far as I am concerned. | ![]() standish11
07/10/2011 14:50 | "standish11, slightly OT I realise, but is Simon OK ?".. sadly I am informed it's nothing serious. | ![]() verymaryhinge

07/10/2011 14:25 | Good support here now -- just added another 1000 | ddav
07/10/2011 13:56 | the interesting thing is that if eps is even 10% of what cenkos think it should be (which i would guess represents management plan as opposed to a "base case"), this is still good value. base case might be 10-20% lower, perhaps. wow. | ![]() geheimnis2
07/10/2011 13:49 | Looking much better but as others have commented a long way to go. | ![]() yorgi
07/10/2011 13:30 | Lots of bullish reports out so far..... and we've still got the weekend press to come :o)) | ![]() greyseal
07/10/2011 13:19 | EK has checked into a health farm.I hope the recovery in the Avanti share price has nothing to do with his indisposition. | ![]() standish11
07/10/2011 12:22 | I shouldn't get too excited yet. A bit of Quantative Easing seems to have done wonders for the market (probably in the knowledge that in the short term, most of that additional liquidity will find itself back in the market!) and many bombed-out stocks have bounced back quite strongly in the past couple of days. However, the BoE is telling you that something VERY nasty is potentially lurking round the corner and AVN could be under the cosh again if confidence evaporates. It's good to see the Cenkos numbers, but until it is seen to be delivering £100m's rather than £5m, it remains vulnerable IMHO. I hold. | ![]() jeffian
07/10/2011 12:17 | confidence has returned. lots of analysts re-iterating "buy". for them it will be nice to have a "banker" on their lists of "top recommendations" in due course ! | ![]() backmarker
07/10/2011 12:11 | Finally AVN's potential appears to be under reassessment. Never expected the share price to go so low. Way oversold IMO. Very uncomfortable year to date but hopefully now heading in the right direction. Pleased I still hold. | garymott
07/10/2011 12:09 | colva, thx for clearing that up. | ![]() backmarker
07/10/2011 11:21 | At last some light--but a long way to the end of the tunnel!!! | ![]() pojscott |
