Thanks Terryebby

I feel pretty positive about them though more contracts would be reassuring. I admit I am fairly obsessive about research and always want to know exactly what a company is doing and what customers think of it. Of course the latter is usually difficult and very incomplete. In the end if the markets are good, and they are well funded you just have to go for it, knowing that if you get two out of three right you are doing very well.

Impressive presentation.

I'm very happy with my investment here and I'm sure I will be adding in the future.

To get involved in a company with this much ambition and a clear strategy is great.

To get involved in a company which will supply GLOBAL data services via a FLEET of satellites is incredible.

and when that company is valued at less than 70M GBP and first launch date is less than year away, then you have to get very excited.

Good luck all holders

mention on t1ps.com site, that they expect a heavyweight to replace the director, and still have it as a buy

I am a full-time investor who has been following Avanti for a while and there is no doubt it is attractive - funded, barriers to entry, forecasts of market growth. My problem is the same one that so often hits us all, namely I don't really have a clue about the market. Sure, sometime we feel we can make a better guess than usual, but in this case I really have no idea (other than what I read) as to why satellite should be more attractive than other options, what advantage Avanti's satellite has and whether the management are up to it. Of course that isn't a reason not to make an investment (or to not get out of bed in the morning) but I would be interested in any views on the subject.

t1ps published an extract:

Avanti is the UK's only Fixed Satellite Services (FSS) operator. Its first satellite – HYLAS I – will be launched in Spring 2009 and will be positioned 33.5°W on the geostationary orbit. HYLAS I has 3,000 MHz of multi-spot-beam Ka bandwidth covering Western, Southern and Central Europe. HYLAS II will be a larger satellite deployed in a different orbital position two years after HYLAS I. It will supply network capacity across the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East and North Africa. We initiate with a BUY recommendation on the basis that the NPV of the HYLAS I bandwidth even using our conservative assumptions on pricing is £109m and the NPV of HYLAS II is £365m. This suggests that investors can make 79% from HYLAS I on the current market value of £61m and 777% if HYLAS II is added.

new broker put out a note yesterday suggesting the share price goes to £24.91 in 2012 when the second satellite is up. So, a 1158% return in four years if they get it right. I cant think of many stocks with that potential other than some oil companies

yeah but its all good news - hitting theri objectives, contract wins, dircetor buys in real volume. When is the new broker putting a note out ? that must be soon, might get the share price flying

fair enough - today's press releases seem to support that - DW and the new CFO bought about £16,000 worth. strong sign of confidence, I think there were quite a few directors buys this year so far - t1ps.com talks a lot about it

Terry,It will not happen,DW is a man of integrity. We may get taken over in an agreed offer at a price very much north of the current price but i don't even think that will happen any time soon.DW knows what he has with this company and my reading of the guy is that he wants to build something special for the future.
I intend to go along for the ride.
