I have mulled everything over and I'm sticking with AVN.

Re Cawkwell and shorting. I have never agreed with shorting and this has nothing to do with AVN now and Cawkwell but the idea that someone/institution can borrow shares they do not own to sell them to ruin a company. If a company is going to fail it will fail without it being shorted however a company in trouble can be finished off by shorters that is clear. When the banks were in crisis the government put a ban on shorting for a period of time. Now the banks are making profits again, yes they needed funds for them to survive but if it had been left to the shorters then maybe some would have gone under. Some of us might think that may not have been a bad thing of course !

Interesting that they pick the day of huge unrest in the middle east.

Just shows the methodology of a warped mind.

Making money out of other peoples misery.Just the kind of person society needs.

Sure if you spread false rumours in a falling market it is easy to manipulate any share price.

Superg1 without doubt appeared here and I believe on iii (I don't follow iii boards) with a sole purpose of trashing AVN and in the beginning with a total load of rubbish but I have no idea what he says now as I have had him filtered for weeks.

From EK,s post.

"Management have refused to meet with me (although we have met them several times over the years on roadshows for their equity fundraisings). Recently a broker got the same treatment and, allegedly, management threatened to report them to the FSA (for what I do not know)".

would that broker be Investec - who earlier this month released a note with a target price of 533p , the only broker/analyst with a price target below 1000p.

superg1 is not an associate of Simon Cawkwell

Simon Cawkwell is actually a very good friend of a very good friend of mine ... so I know how Simon operates ... Simon likes to leverage his "celebrity" status :-)

Simon Cawkwell wasnt just wrong on ASOS he gave it as his top shorting tip for this year at last tears investor show at the BDC in Islington. At the time the shares were trading at £6. 200% up from that now. I wasnt impressed with him at the time anyway but to get your top tip so wrong is ridiculous.

I don't remember the exact rumour but it had something to do with the launch being put back. The price fell from £4.50 to £3.70 in an afternoon. The company brought out a trading update after hours, and the share went back up to £4.50 the very next day.

No smoke without fire? Why has the share gone down even on good news? A falling knife? Can you go against a trend? Why wont the BOD see investors?
Too much debt and heavy finance needs? The knives seem to be out for Avanti and if that is based on incorrect data then I feel sorry for Investors and Directors. Although I treat Simon's words with a pinch of salt mostly, something hasn't smelt right to me here for a litte while so I have sold. More exciting stocks elsewhere. Have you seen BEM & GGG recently!
