Aman - Smith did not have a hand in developing the IP, scientist yes, innovator/research genius, no.

As for his ability to lead a commercial organisation through the minefield of a startup (which it still remains, after so many years)? Soul of the company - IMHO, no.

I share your concerns and watch with interest as to whether the science comes to the fore again - after the longest P1 trial in recent history, we are all still waiting in hope. Currently out (yes, with a loss , eyes fully dried) but could buy back in if the new girl turns out to be a good one and takes this company by the scruff of the neck, starts to close out trials in UK/US with dates and objectives met.

Given the Convi, and limited cash /high expense levels, there remains the prospect of a big fall (hence the exit)and the potential for a fire-sale that leaves current LTH’s sitting on toilet paper - which will be a great shame for the company and investors trapped. So the new girl needs to navigate carefully on the next Convi payment - all eyes on how that gets settled - big call!

Tom that is what worries me mkt cap 115m yet it's not worth anywhere near that currently. Drugs are a long way off ever seeing the money the rest of the business looks average at best and not generating a profit either. Expect to see this head a lot lower from here unless they can pull a rabbit out of the hat which seems unlikely from here

fieldhouse - "Very disillusioned, it seems that the TW supporters were correct."

Please have some respect. I for one was not a supporter of TW regarding AVCT. It was clear to me since joining the thread they were lying about the world beating LFT and AVA6000. Furthermore recent events regarding the Post Office Horizon and infected blood scandals show the lengths companies, organisations and individuals will go to in order to protect their income and reputations.

JakNife - None of the so called guided missiles are as effective as DOX in killing cancer cells. The problem with DOX is its toxicity. The Holy Grail for cancer is still to be able to deliver DOX without its toxicity.

Very disillusioned, it seems that the TW supporters were correct.
Decided to cut my losses an over the last two months.
Still have a small holding .
Switched money into Hochschild mining shares !, They are up 30% so mitigating some losses.

What a shambles!

Worryingly the mkt cap is 118m still. Any more bad news and this does look likely to fall heavily. Selling the diagnostic division might help a bit but I doubt it will realise the value they think it's worth and end up keeping hold of it.

Saying as that's what generates the revenue mainly here it's hard to see what they can do to stop this getting a lot worse. Biotechs are simply not a good place to be right now especially ones a long way from the promised land

Yes with the death spiral loan conversions I don't see the share price going anywhere but down, with the odd spike to forward sell it. The Diagnostics story has been a total debacle from beginning to end, Affimers are going nowehere after years of little but empty promises, so pretty much all they are left with are two drugs that others failed to commercialise, one of which is going for the Guinness book of records for a Phase 1 trial and the other hasn't even got that far. They don't have enough funds for any Phase 2 trials anyway. Best hope now is a white knight who will fund them to market, if they can ever get that far (but who will take a big slice) but I've seen no sign of any so far. In fact it's been so bad that they've even had to throw the Wetherby Waffler overboard.

Looks like the diagnostic division will either be floated or sold. Unfortunately now is not the best time for either with the amount likely to be realised far lower than they would like and unlikely to provide the good news needed. AV6000 whilst promising is a very long way off and an expensive road. They have just over a years cash after the recent raise. Mkt cap 127m looks very exoecnsive for something heavily loss making and. Along way from any major success with a lot of risks along the way. I expect to see this continue to fall further as its currently at a cross roads with changes and decidimg which way they want to go. Whatever they are currently doing isn't working.
The affirmer micro array looks like it' has a long way to go before being a viable product lack of clinical data etc
Worth 15-20p maybe at this stage imo

Very coiled ...so coiled it could spring either way. I repeat ...why has Smith left without a word? Gone! His baby left on the steps. He.s nurtured the brat for eons , then he leaves without a word. Something.s happened for sure, but what? I fear the worse. Aim has a nasty habit of gutting the unwary. Chin chin fillet knife anyone?
