13/3/2023 06:47 | Per the annual report Augm banks with Barclays. Impossible with unlisted companies to assess the direct or indirect links with svb but given the nice spread of 22-24 holdings and amount of cash (at Barclays!!) i am happy to keep adding. | rimau1
12/3/2023 20:23 | No, nothing about Augmentum or any company they invest in. Svb had 3,300 U.K. clients. Following the sale of ii augmentum should be in a strong position. | aqc888
12/3/2023 19:13 | The FT link you have posted is subscription only.Does the article specifically mention companies that AUGM is invested in as being involved with the US bank? | 888icb
12/3/2023 12:29 | Looking like it might be a bumpy week for Augmentum. Could present some opportunities for them. I shall certainly be buying if it hits the low 80s | aqc888
10/3/2023 08:48 | Limit order filled at 95p, bargain valuation. Further limit orders all the way down to covid lows of 83p. | rimau1
15/2/2023 09:33 | Yes this one always seems to be under the radar and takes ages before it reacts to positive news. Simon Thompson in the IC tips this from time to time, so that could give it a boost at some point. A lot of their exits have been to large fiancncial institutions, who have pots of cash but need to innovate and come up with new products. These large players have a poor record of developing their own new products, so they're increasingly buying up early stage fintechs - AUGM discuss this trend in some of their recent presentations, but certainly bodes well for their portfolio. Good point about the cash - if you strip this out it is on a c43% discount, yet they just sold one of their holdings for a significant premium! | riverman77
15/2/2023 08:05 | I’m amazed at the muted reaction to the sale. When the deal closes we will have over £70m cash to redeploy (taking account of the follow on investment in Zopa). NAV £1.58p of which cash is circa 40p! | rimau1
14/2/2023 10:18 | As owners of Mettle already, Nat West are building an interesting position in Fintech. | makinbuks
13/2/2023 15:12 | Today's confirmation of another sale of their assets is a fabulous pat on the back for Tim and his team. It shows just how cabable they really are at investing in successful and in-demand small financial technologies. Congratulations to them and all holders that will benefit. | wsm812
02/2/2023 14:44 | How many of us have a Zopa account? Would you have known about if you weren't invested here? It looks very slick and offers comparible savings rates....before today's base rate rise. I'm just curious to know, I do not.....yet! | wsm812
02/2/2023 14:16 | RNS today investing a further £4 million into existing investment Zopa in a further funding round. | 888icb
20/1/2023 08:18 | I also bought on yesterday's low. my BEP is now 103p so happy to see the tick up this am. | wsm812
19/1/2023 18:29 | First company buyback since November so good indication of value at these levels | rimau1
19/1/2023 15:04 | I can’t see a specific reason but there are a few headwinds rearing up; Sterling relative strength puts pressure on the majority of portfolio valuations, high rates are not supportive/plenty of news that Fintech investment is significantly down y-o-y and finally traditional banks are finally taking on the fintechs. Chase are the latest to launch an app only bank, we obviously have Zopa and Tide which could now face stiffer competition. Saying that at £1 i would say the downside is more or less baked in again so I’ve bought back in. The sphere/Simon Thompson bounce in December proved too tempting recently so i had sold out (for the third time). I see a buy case here at <96p and a sell case when we breach the £1.15 mark. All IMO. | rimau1
19/1/2023 13:47 | Any reason for the drop today? | wsm812
11/12/2022 12:14 | mos picked this up on 5 Dec. Monday could be a good opportunity for profit taking (imo) if any late readers of mos decide to ride the momentum. | pugugly
02/12/2022 16:47 | I see this is up about 20% since I highlighted this opportunity a couple of weeks ago - still think this has further to go so will continue to hold. | riverman77
24/11/2022 16:14 | What is the point of ZOPA now? Isn’t it just like any other bank? I see Augmentum are now under water with their investment. When the banking licence was originally applied for the point was to compliment the P2P business | makinbuks
24/11/2022 12:58 | You're too kind Rimau1. They were already coming in to buy here. Nothing to do with me :-) Managed a few but this a complete pain to buy. I can't remember if I have traded this one before. Usually have a feel for how they move, but this is more illiquid than I thought so I won't get too excited! You can't even get a quote to buy now. It looks like it is about to test that key resistance. The order book is building on the bid with market makers jumping that iceberg (mentioned above) as well as 25k@90.4p and 10k and 7.5k@91.2p. Simon Thompson is the market mover, so if he tips it, it could pop alot higher. Sticking my stop under 89p. All imo DYOR | sphere25
24/11/2022 11:55 | A Sphere related bounce ahead of a Simon Thompson bounce, what luck! | rimau1
24/11/2022 11:35 | Watching in here. This hasn't bounced at all with the recent bullishness. Decent buying coming in here. Private investors are certainly keen this morning. Triple bottom on the chart. Needs to break 93p for a short term bullish move. That mark ties in with recent resistance as well as the 50 day moving average. I can see a couple of sizeable blocks of 200k and 194k mopped up this morning. There is a 3067 iceberg sat on the bid at 89p. Can never tell how big these buy orders are, but they might be the buyer picking up these blocks. This is illiquid. When it moves, it can move very sharp, so interested to see if the exchanges do pick up here for a possible move higher. The Bulls are certainly trying to clear sellers today so let's see if anyone makes any bigger moves. All imo DYOR | sphere25
24/11/2022 10:57 | Yes just need a nudge to wake up the market and thus should fly - no reason it shouldn't be back at 130p at least. | riverman77
24/11/2022 10:56 | "NAV per share after performance fee1 remained stable at 155.0p (31 March 2022: 155.2p" ....what is 'Fee1'??? | casholaa
24/11/2022 08:17 | This is incredibly cheap and i have repurchased the position that i sold in the summer. Grover, Tide and Zopa are top tier class acts, we trade at a 43% discount to an NAV that held up during the autumn rout and we have over £50m of net cash to reinvest and continue to buy back shares. I struggle to see the downside here. We should get a Simon Thompson bounce too in the next week with a write up. | rimau1 |
