But no really RRB if you are happy to sit and wait all that time for something that was plain to see wasn't going to happen. To then be updated by skynews and not find that absolutely ridiculous especially after you laughing at my comment about not being kept in the loop then fair enough (whether I was or not). I think it's hilarious.

Announcement obligations
1. Requirement for secrecy
It is critical that secrecy is maintained before an announcement of an offer or possible offer. The City Code requires that all persons privy to confidential information, and particularly price sensitive information, concerning an offer or possible offer must treat that information as secret and may only pass it to another person if it is necessary to do so and if that person is made aware of the need for secrecy.

2. When is an announcement required?
An announcement will be required:

when a firm intention to make an offer has been communicated to the target board by or on behalf of a bidder
when an acquisition of an interest in shares gives rise to an obligation to make a mandatory bid under Rule 9 of the City Code (see stakebuilding and mandatory offers)
when, following an approach by or on behalf of a potential bidder to the target board, the target company is the subject of rumour and speculation or there is an untoward movement in its share price
when, after a potential bidder first actively considers an offer but before an approach has been made to the target board, the target company is the subject of rumour and speculation or there is an untoward movement in the target company’s share price and there are reasonable grounds for concluding that it is the potential bidder’s actions (whether through inadequate security or otherwise) which have led to the situation
if negotiations or discussions in connection with a possible offer are about to be extended to include more than a very restricted number of people (other than those who need to know in the parties concerned and their immediate advisers). The Panel has advised that it should be consulted prior to more than a total of six external parties being approached about an offer or possible offer including, for example, potential providers of finance.

Not a bad price to raise at. Sticky hands too. Puts me back in profit so can't complain.
Will see what the results look like before further comment.

Not sure I can see any merit in a partial investment. Anyone putting in at a large premium would want control. Don't like the sound of that one!

"Hedgehog if he hadn't changed his tune yet there would be something quite wrong going on up there I think don't you!? ..."

Rich,

BOOM's strategic review, incorporating the formal sale process, announced on 19 February 2020, has yet to report its outcome.

The only reason you and Jayfin have turned bearish is the length of time that has elapsed since his bullish postings in January: but if anything that is a bullish sign, because conducting a bidding war can be protracted process.

No one posting here knows what the outcome will be, even if they think they do.

But I can speculate on a third possible outcome: a sort of 'hybrid' between a takeover and no sale: i.e. another company takes a large strategic stake in BOOM, at a large premium to the current share price of 172.5p, as a prelude to a takeover later.

Absolutely right RRB. Beggars belief that some expect regular updates on the sale process when it's specifically prohibited under the take over code. Why? Because nothing can released which may affect the price - up or down - whilst negotiations take place. What we have is people commenting and speculating and guessing. Someone is going to be right. I believe the company have kept the lid on this very well. But we all know that once the RNS starts its drafting stage and many more people are working on the project then news will leak out.

Keeping investors in the loop?
FFS they cannot announce anything beyond what they have done whilst under takeover discussions

Hedgehog if he hadn't changed his tune yet there would be something quite wrong going on up there I think don't you!? Sometimes just have to take a hit. It's a great shame that they've done such a poor job at keep investors in the loop. Nevermind though, I kept a small portion just incase but have great doubts that we will see a deal done anytime soon after the last announcement.

Rachel,

Consolidation-adjusted, BOOM has been about ten times as high as its current share price (167.5p), when its financials were far less impressive than now.

Shares do tend to overshoot on the upside and the downside.

And the same sorts of investors do tend to get over-bullish and over-bearish at precisely the wrong times.

And note how well the Spotify share price has performed this year.

Spotify Technology (NYSE:SPOT):

That's a reflection of how online providers have tended to benefit during the current pandemic, and of how online advertising has recovered during H2.

And that bodes very well for BOOM's imminent trading update, its future, and a potential takeover of the company.

I agree.
Any implication that I know anything that is beyond the public domain (for those prepared to look) is just incorrect. Under the previous CEO information was a little easier to come by.
I have exposure to the industry through work, hence I hear rumours but as I have always said, that is all they are.
Do have an edge? No. Do I know what this week will bring? No
The bottom line is Raine are still being kept on. Boom have just signed a deal with a partner who is expanding into podcasts by acquisition.
HH the RNSs have always talked about interest in the plural so a bidding war may well in play.
Time will tell.
