Silver lining if we find ELIX is delayed: Thanks to over investment in smelters, particularly in China, smelter owners are scrabbling for ore and their margins are actually turning negative. Annual round of price negotiations is being undertaken at the moment but last year's benchmark of $80 / ton of ore ( 8c / pound) is likely to be in the region of $ 20-40 / ton ! Europes largest copper smelting group's CEO stated that they'd have to live with these lower TC/RCs for the coming year.So... we can look forward to reducing processing costs in the short term but ELIX (for the next year) will not have the impact perhaps it might have had |
Q3 ops update for ATYM on 14 Oct. Let's hope for some good progress on the variety of initiatives the company is undertaking. |
Evening all, i've tried to hold back from posting, too much excitement at seeing my thoughts around rate cuts, $ weakness coming home to roost.....chinese stimulus has also helped as Goldmans had about 3 weeks ago cut its forecasts on copper as we know DUE to china, so maybe that was premature.......Chinese stimulus and economy is quite key, although the need for copper in AI/electricifcation also going to drive demand when supply is still IMO in deficit...
DYOR and roll on a fiver and more for ATYM.... |
Yes, great to see the surge up in price if only to a more sensible valuation!! |
Wot no posts...?
Copper flying...ATYM hits 415 on its wat to £5 by 31 Dec... |
I think this is copper price and institutional buying pre FTSE250... |
Be great to see an announcement on Elix or solar farm or permitting soon. Also the Q3 production results will be happening in the next 3 weeks I guess. |
Always possible with the exploration ongoing and of course Touro, but no otherwise. |
You think incoming? |
£4.05... |
Nice pop today. More than just copper? |
Copper flying...ATYM hit 394p...not far to go now...
FTSE250 and £5 beckon... |
Copper continuing to move up. Hopefully ATYM can push back above the 400p mark shortly. |
Dividend arrived yesterday via Charles Stanley Direct |
Yes arrived now ar AJB |
yes landed at HL |
Anyone got their dividend? |
Locked and loaded for a trip to a fiver with ATYM as $ weakness starts on back of cuts....DYOR |
Copper up - we're down ... bought a few more |
Rouge...Thanks for your reply and I mirror your thoughts. I hadn't reached a conclusion as to who would approach to purchase, but Sandfire would be an obvious match. (I also used to think it would be Trafigura). With the lack of investment in new mines and the beckoning Copper shortage, the approach could come from anywhere?, but it will happen!. We tick all the boxes for a buyout!. As long as the price is reasonable,i will be happy and it will cut this rollercoaster ride short. Can't believe i have endured all these years of the Junta, Harry,Carlos Estevez, court cases, tailings dam breaches and the enviromentalists to end up...at a position, where I can now invest at around the same price! But that's investing...the journey!!. Increased my position today & added 8146 shares which showed as a buy? Usually shows as Unknown!:) Good luck with your investment and hopefully,we will have something to celebrate in the near future!.;) |
Impressive Quirky...we have c45k and s/o else on here that I know has more than that...
Given that this is an established copper producer on mainland Europe with routes to market plus all the pending improvements and opportunities, I believe an opening bid would have to be a minimum of £6...
I had always thought that the most likely bidder was Trafigura until they sold their MATSA mine to Sandfire, who I would now make favourites.
MATSA was producing 4.4 million tonnes of copper ore a year whereas ATYM is producing almost four times that amount. It was sold for $1.865 billion when the copper price was c$4.50...
So why wouldn't ATYM fetch at least £10 for a successful bid.
Certainly I've massively increased my stake on a significant rerate when we enter FTSE250 and on all the other pending news...
But at the back of my mind I'm expecting a bid approach eventually, so why not now before all that share price enhancing news hits the market...? |
I admire your restraint at only being disappointed,In addition to share price growth I am also looking at potential Divi's. |
Monitored this board for many years, but not a regular poster. I have held shares for over 20 odd years and added when I can.First purchases at around 8 pence in the Harry Adams days, before all the consolidations. Traded regularly on many penny stocks and this one came good. I now look for investment. Comes with age!. Always believed on this one, with the resources in the ground, improved infrastructure and the new management. I believe there is a Copper storm coming, for all the obvious reasons!. I will be disappointed, if we get taken out early!!. I do believe that this will be £7 in 2 years & move on to £10 within 5 years. Aimed at Rougpierre or Mr DC, who are like minded, i think?- what is a reasonable takeout price??, in your opinion, at present time? ( or next 6 moths). Over the years, I have built up a reasonable holding and hold over 65000 shares across ISA, Pension and trading account. So have quite a bit of skin in the game!.I would appreciate your input. |
It's a worry look how small investors are getting screwed at CEY. |
SP very quiet despite copper recovering more than 6% in the last week...
I'm wondering if somebody is sniffing around...
I know the only thing Alberto fears is a takeover bid and surely now is the perfect time...
So much news pending and with the Spanish domicile sorted this quarter ATYM could enter the FTSE250 with Tracker Fubds then having to buy stock.
Canaccord have a price target of £5.85 and I am on record as predicting £5 by the end of the year...
So a predator would need to move now IMO... |
