Majedie Asset Management Ltd is the asset management company operating the funds; ie, "the institution"..

Majedie UK Smaller Companies Fund & Majedie UK Equity Fund are investment funds run by Majedie Asset Management

The two funds total 5.57%

Irrespective of how the cake is sliced, what is interesting to note is new shareholders recognising future value as we scale up and wanting a piece of it, if this leads to some infighting to get their shares and open market purchases driving the share price as we head towards 55,000 Tonnes next year so be it .. :o)

Interesting post. Not sure I can add much insight into the holdings.

What direction ATYM end up taking, I suspects has quite a few variables, but I wouldn't rule out them building this into a mid sized major. Alberto and the team have proven themselves to date and they have the skills and ambitions to match.

Edit: Little mention of Atlantic copper. Take over/merger option?

Good lord...thanks for that, but it doesn't make sense...

If you add up all these holdings (discounting duplications), the total is 31%...

The holdings of the 'major' stakeholders add up to 72.64% (without Majedie).

That gives a grand total of 103.64%...

However...on the ATYM website, Majedie is shown at 6.60% but on here they have only 3.17%...

So...clearly Majedie has been selling (where are the Holdings RNSs!!!? Our for that matter Cobas at 4.66%!!?

So probably the recent large transactions have been Majedie sales and Spanish institutional buys...but...

Majedie is not in the 'major' investors total above so...what conclusions can we draw?

1 That the recent share price stagnation is largely because liquidity has pretty much dried up...

2 That one or more holders have been lending stock into the market...

So what happens when this all unwinds and how might it happen...?

Theoretically the 'overbought' total holdings would force the price higher, but...

The lack of liquidity would mitigate that...

To my mind it increases the likelihood that ATYM plans to issue new equity to part fund Toure/pay off Astor...

Depending on price that is not a bad thing, provided it is accompanied by a FTSE Listing, because there is clearly large and growing institutional demand and...

Newly issued equity would improve the liquidity position, helping the price to drive upwards, presumably just a copper hits and goes beyond $3/lb.

Perfect storm...£3 by midsummer...I still believe in a long term target of £10 a share...

(Unless Traf takes us out...but then the opposite could happen if Traf reversed its mining/trading interests into ATYM, replicating what Glencore did with Xtrata, thereby creating another metals/mining major...

AIMHO as usual and I'd be delighted to hear what others think but, for the time being you might want to bookmark this post...

Have a happy and holy Easter weekend one and all...

Think Canaccord re-confirmed price target 330 TP ... it popped up on a daily share bulletin, I think I saw on Bloomberg .

This Elconfidencial/Van claim 15% in local Spanish institution hands very interested ... but I can't see how this is possible give free float is only 20%

Spanish institutions at 15% ... can this be possible ? If market makers have held stock down / or are short this will pop ? Any individual investor > 2% must declare .

It makes sense for local institutions to hold this, and I think they have been slow to this as poor local coverage . If some of our brokers have made an effort with the Spanish institutions well done to them . Or it may be local brokers with decent small cap franchise that have spotted the opportunity.

Alberto needs to clear Astor , then start paying dividends . Will transform the stock.

@Van some decent posts , sometimes very good . Harry is gone , so you don't need to hate EMED so much ... history .

Interesting 15% Spanish funds ? where did they get the shares from ? float is only 20%

Correct any holder over 2% needs to declare . I would expect news soon.

On the DD, nothing was provided to the red-necks investors who wanted to have a look , anyhow they were also out of their depth . ATYM is no start up . Sandfire more used to virgin shovel opportunities ... dynamite blast and have a look, drink a few beer.

How come we had over 1m shares changing hands yesterday and only 13k or so today and why did the share price fall, albeit by a tiny amount, when most of the deals after 2pm were buys

Copper sniffing at $3.00/lb again..., as we scale up and sell into it.. almost perfect timing too..., 11,000 Tonnes in Q2 coming up, 12,000 in Q3, 13,000 in Q4.. :o)...

If they have van then they should certainly be declared.Personally I would be happy and indeed encouraged by the presence of Spanish Funds (assuming they are not money laundering fronts) on our register. The more the merrier and presumably they are the background buyers who have kept our share price going up.Were they the ones who didn't want to pay more than 225p?

If Alberto declares that 4 spanish funds owned more than 15% of ATYM, certainly some of them have over 3% and shall be declared. Why atym has not informed about? Alberto seems nervous after BMO fiasco
