I've only just noticed that there is a VERY high correlation between the ATYM share price and the copper price...especially since the last big spike...

A 30% rise on copper last Autumn produced a near doubling in the share price here...

On that basis, we are lagging the recent copper price recovery, so should test 150 again soon and...

A break through $2.70 should take us through 160 again and...

A break of $3 should take us well into the 200s...

Meanwhile this helps...

AIMHO as usual...

I wonder if Mr 5k has tried his arm this morning to no effect so far? Maybe the tide is turning?

Interesting reading from BHP/Freeport.., revising down their supply, which can only be good for Copper prices..

Indonesia issues/strike threat for Freeport causing copper to spike.

At the heart of it is this:

"rules in Indonesia require Freeport to obtain a new mining permit, divest a 51 percent stake, build a second copper smelter, relinquish arbitration rights and pay new taxes and royalties".

Makes sobering reading and why operating where the rule of law isn't challenged by political will is so important (note anyone invested in SA!)

The share price here has more than doubled since it bottomed in late 2015. I think in time, the share price will double again and then some, especially if the copper price increases further.

If you want a dividend before then, then that's probably right, unless they pay off or switch the Astor debt to bank debt (which makes little business sense as Astor carries no interest).

However once they do start paying a dividend, you won't be buying at a PE under 4.

ANTO, VED, RIO, GLEN, etc...all of them pay a reasonable dividend as soon as they can...why shouldn't we...? Just one of the reasons my long term holding is in my ISA...

Dividends are just as important to our "big three" as to us - after all they should represent an even bigger discount for their off-takes if they choose to look at it that way. Also, if they are investing to build a bigger and more profitable company over the next five years that can also be good for us provided they don't take up the whole of the length of the mine-life in doing it.

The EPS will start to shine through and get noticed on searches once we have some results on the board, EPS of 37p @ $2.60 Copper, we can't stay on a PE of 3.75 for much longer..? Q1 financials in 2 weeks.. :o)

Rich1e we should be throwing off cash for divi's by 2020 and even if half the profits were distributed as div's, the share price would by default be way more than £260 due to the EPS. Lets face it if the div's are that good even we LTH will start piling some cash into more shares as the return will be so good (at that point in time, assuming the PI's are looked after and the big three don't keep trying to make a bigger and bigger mining company that they can screw discounted off takes continuously out of, rather than distribute the profits as divi's)

I wouldn’t know Acamas, to contribute to my portfolio, I would like 165p by the year end, 260p by the start of 2020. Easily achievable, the same % rise over the next 30 months as we have witnessed in the last 6. There is also always the chance that it might be surpassed in a very short space of time given the right news flow.

Rich1e,

Does it follow that he expects to sell those at around 210p sometime later this year?

Keeping an open mind, if someone buys or sells big they aren’t going to get it all at one price. And if you want to buy or sell big it helps to have someone on the other side of the trade who thinks that it's a good idea to do the opposite.

Aye, he may have also have bought a shed load on Monday at 150p, that went through late, and another shed load today at 140p. He gets to pay the average price of all his buys, which taking those two incidences alone is 145p and everyone’s happy, well almost everyone.
