Slaoui said in the next two to three weeks the U.S. would learn more about the immune response generated by the Astra-Oxford vaccine, and would better understand why the lower dose resulted in a more significant response

And separately on Twitter 3 hours ago:

*SLAOUI SAYS ASTRA PHASE 3 TRIAL IN U.S. MAY BE COMPLETED SOON

games, interesting question. Unfortunately it may be the opposite on oncology
with failures in diagnosis of early stage cancers leading to
more aggressive treatment options. The flipside is very late
stage diagnosis may leave only palliative care.

Would expect UK excess deaths to remain elevated for a number of years.

One of my friends is a cancer nurse at a hospital in Guildford
and the golden rule is ...if you are experiencing new, unexplained symptoms for 3 weeks
then see a GP. Don't delay.

question:-

Am happily invested here but would love to know who else are the significant listed players in the covid-19 quick (1/2 hour ?)tests .

And same question regarding the antibody tests. Who are the significant names in the antibody testing field?

Many thanks

Also quick question to investors.

With all the delay in treatments due to hospital cancellations and people who should, but don't seek gp attention etc, will this cause a loss in revenue for azn.

I can imagine a lot of countries worldwide will be experiencing same as uk.

That's a different discussion really.

The end result is still the same.

Good article in The Times Astra score a victory for science, but not for shares. Worth a read.

UK borrowed £22 billion last month, so HMG arguably highly incentived to promote
vaccination. The financial damage caused by Covid-19, besides the loss of life, is extraordinary.

I have vacinations on a regular basis for work, This year insisted on MMR11 vacine. Covid vacine will be no different

Box, yes, authorities can make it difficult if they wish.

Ultimately it will be personal choce, but may well restrict choice in other areas

for those deciding against vaccination.

From a professional perspective having 2 different doses more than doubles the complexity.

It’s the power of an emotive anecdote over objective evidence. People believe what they want to believe and disregard the rest. I’ve given up arguing with stupid. I’ll be involved in the logistics of this vaccination program and I’m content that it won’t be sitting in storage for long.

It's a personal choice on vaccinationBut equally if I own an airline I've my freedom and personal choice not to let anyone on a plane who hasn't been vaccinated (as at least one airline is saying they will do)

The long covid threat is concerning - and is part of the reason why I'm happy to keep my mask on - its easy enough to work out if you are at risk of dying now from covid - but long covid isn't associated with age and/or co-morbidities - it will be one of the big health challenge of the next decade I've one friend who is still suffering since getting it in March - she's fit/healthy/reasonably young

Also need to consider the Long Covid-19 risk.

While understanding of this is still limited,

there are growing reports of multiple organ damage, even in those

with a very mild initial infection.

But ultimately it's a personal choice decision on vaccination, it's voluntary.

Wipo1 I’m sorry to say that you probably aren’t as unique as you’d like to think. Medicine is formulaic and guideline driven because everything needs an evidence base. Your medicines will certainly have been taken by one of the participants, especially as this trial included elderly patients.

Agreed. At the very least it provides reputational stability and contribution towards overheads/staff costs for near term, with profitable income potentially from mid-2021 onwards.

AZN is not a vaccine play and it never was.

It's an immunotherapy/oncology specialist.

We should be grateful that pharma stepped up to the plate and delivered on COVID-19.

I take multiple medications and think I've had COVID, but will still have the

vaccine at the earliest opportunity. Worst ways it should mitigate any

subsequent reinfections, if not prevent them. That's my rational.

Monty permanently trades this. He's temporarily out. That's all you need to know! Not worth getting into a dialogue when it's as farcical as saying 'only 90%'

All three vaccines require 2 jabs.

The AZN Oxford vaccine is much cheaper and easier to roll out and has the added benefit of protecting 100% of those immunised from serious disease with no hospitalisations at all in those receiving the vaccine based on PIII trial results.
