It has also gone bankrupt an amazing 7 times since its birth in 1913.

Lead underwriter will test the Fund Managers in the first instance along the lines of we are bringing abc to the market.
They will trawl all the big fund managers and "build a book" of buyers , how many shares etc , the price they are prepared to pay and the like.
They can then decide how much they can raise and at what price

Again , that is roughly how it comes together.

IPOs usually bought by pension funds and the like.
Speculators maybe , looking for a quick in and out profit.

It does get more technical and complex
but that is a rough idea.

Stabilisation or "greenshoe" is when an issue comes to market and the underwriters will sell more shares than are being issued .
The idea is that when the Stock starts trading the underwriters can buy their "short" back and thus hold the Stock around its issue price for a few days.
Makes the underwriters look good in their clients eyes .
There are always "stags" who want out as soon as trading starts and the underwriters can buy that stock to close their short again and hold the price steady

Can anyone please tell me what stabilisation transactions are? Who pays for them and how do they occur. I never knew they even existed! So much for a free market.....

One born every minute, the poor mugs that invested their hard earned into this pile of sxxt at a vastly inflated price just as the UK car market heads south and everywhere else teeters on recession, great timing. Worth a couple of quid a share, parts bin unreliable cars and a company built on debt, bankrupt seven times so far in its history, thats about every thirtenn years it goes bust haha.

Share float matches their current range of cars ... high expectation followed by disappointing reality.

All the Fund Managers who piled into
the flotation don't look too clever.

We trust these people to manage our
Pension Funds....

Hey Ho ....the usual answer is usually that we invest for the long term.
In other words, if it goes wrong short term , not to worry , all will be well in 30 years time.
Lol
Totally beyond me how anyone sees Aston as a good investment but hopefully I am wrong.
Maybe long term ...
No offence to Fund Managers. ..just a bit of banter.

Another UK dodgy float heading South, bet the backers glad to unload this debt fueled POS on the public and funds and get clear, two quid by this time next year.

If AML follows the same pattern as Ferrari it'll probably be worth buying in at about 12 - 13 quid... And then keeping your fingers crossed!
