It's had a retrace so onward and upward.....

The market continues to climb and apparently without much fear. Savers are being 'pushed' into shares because interest rates elsewhere are negligible.

Barring the appearance of a 'Black Swan' a break above 1200 and a test of the all time high is a high probability.

We know that sooner or later upward pressure on the market will cease and then carnage ensues, until then buy, buy and profit for tomorrow we crash.

Ah Bracke, good day indeed. It will be interesting to see if this pulls back a little, £12.00 does seem a sticking point.

I sold mine yesterday, can't knock the gain in the Sipp, it's had a good run, and I've no idea if it will continue. Safe than sorry, the volatility here can work both ways.Now...where to put it!

It is interesting to compare the price action/volume on Thursday, Friday and Monday.

The share price had fallen from 1200 on increasing volume (selling/shorting) until Thur and Fri when the share price rose on reducing volume (selling/shorting ceases). What I do find particularly interesting is that yesterday there was a large increase in volume for a small increase in share price and a narrow trading range this suggests (to me) that selling/shorting returned.

It appears that there is continued resistance at 1200. It needs a 'slug' of buying to push and keep pushing above 1200 to 'burn' the shorts and attack the all time high.

Good day Disco

Up until yesterday they were not buying above £11. Perhaps they are now assisting in the push to break above £12.

The gap was not filled and the share price is now rising so the focus turns to £12.

It looks like it is going for the gap fill after all.

The disappointment over Japan and the fall in oil price has halted the market rise and resulted in yesterday's drop.

A break above 1200 will have to wait for another day.

The main question is whether this is just a market retrace before moving on to higher prices or the start of a larger fall.

Support for AHT. You will note that it is currently supported at the last major high on the 17 Dec 2015 at 1155. Next is 1128 the gap fill and third is a test of 1100.

Japan announcements in the early hours and the expectation is 'loadsa money'.

So no over excitement if the share price takes off skywards.

Decorum must be observed.

Good day Disco

Following your post I have checked two other sources which are both the same but different from the one I quoted. So.....

All time intraday high on 28 May 2015 was - 1231.

All time closing high on 27 May 2015 was - 1217.

My apologies for misleading.

Yes.

The congestion before the gap and the heavy volume which occurred was typical of a breakaway gap. There has been no attempt to fill the gap and the share price has moved above 1200.

Providing nothing unpleasant emerges from the undergrowth the probability is for an attempt at the all time high of 1234.

EDIT

All time high shown above is incorrect see post below.

Thanks bracke.

Are you now thinking that the earlier substantial July gap is a 'breakaway'?
