Bracke - whatever Cameron makes of it the out brigade will still sneer and the dailies are whipping up the 'no' vote even now. Plenty more volatility over Brexit whatever happens today/this weekend leading into June.

But yep, a nice bounce before results would be luvverly.

Good weekend all.

I will need to watch that as I'm shorting the FTSE 100 but more as a hedge, so its not a major problem.
Then what if the unthinkable happens and auntie Angel says no?
By the way I'm a Boddingtons bitter man ,

When Mr Cameron returns from his foray into Europe with agreement in hand declaring, 'It's an excellent result for Britain', the markets will soar and you will be ordering Krug by the multi case load.

Down 13p on 300,000 trades, is this the traditional tree shake.
Stood 50p in hand waiting for a sign.

Will it go to the £8 gap first before then re-testing the recent lows underneath that...who knows with this technical lark!? :)

FTSE has retraced this morning but lack of solidarity by AHT; it hasn't.

It appears intent on reaching 900 no matter what. Perhaps those nasty shorters are covering.

Better than being a Humphrey!

As Bracke knows, I leave the dark side to others and do not bet on failure or short. It implies an optimistic view which allows me to sleep even through Great Storms - although alcohol might also contribute. Lol.

I simply believe, as does one Sage of Omaha, that a good well-run company is the place to invest, especially if said company is over-burdened with sellers for macro reasons. Of course the AHT board could be withholding bad news, in which case I am likely to be shafted.

On the basis that is unlikely, I too don't see black swans arriving in droves so will hold here for more gains into results on March 2nd - just seven/eight trading days away...

The opening gap was only 2.5 so nothing of any consequence.

My retrace thought was based on DOW and FTSE. FTSE has risen for four successive days for a total of 493. If DOW remains at the level it is as I type it will have risen for three successive days for a total of approx 790.

Yes they could continue rising but the probability of a retrace is fair. So what about just a little one to say 840? It's not a lot.

Just to prove I am not all doom and gloom....barring a flight of black swans 900 is a high probability.

No I am not invested in AHT.

Lol Bracke, given your EG status and gap comprehension I'd not be so foolish to doubt the opening gap today or any other retrace won't be forthcoming.

But I ain't trading this until results, and, by the look of things, not many others will be either. So I'll mind the gap and tread carefully until March 2nd when all things being equal we'll either rally further or give back gains.

What happens in-between is of consequence but not dominant, IMHO.

Are you invested here yet?

Yeah sorry meant the gap at 805p not 790p Bracke.

Seems a fill there maybe a good entry if the wobbles continue then.

What is the significance of a "breakaway gap" Bracke?

Indeed Bracke. My observation about 965p was purely based on your highest recognised gap, not one that I especially believe AHT will make - at least not until full year figures are in in mid-summer.

This will be a good run up if it reaches £9 IMHO, but on the day, as you said, if it exceeded forecasts again then who knows?

I am content with the calmer waters for a while! Which way next here and more generally will possibly be driven by Brexit and oil concerns come d'habitude. And maybe a fresh bout of the Greek tragedy?

Enjoy the remainder of this beautiful day - at least it is in Haute Garonne. :)

Good day Topicel

965 would be a very good target. I suspect it will require some exceptional results to get it there in the short term.

Good day Source

There is no gap at 790 that I can see. There is one at 805 which is starting to look like a breakaway. The next 4/5 trading days should confirm or deny if that is the case.
