I wouldn't be surprised if the massive shorts (7.4%) on Jupiter Fund Management aren't in for an imminent and extremely painful caning.

Strong figures from Man Group today bodes very well the health of sector and in turn for the continuing upturn in Ashmore's fortunes and their increasingly positive outlook.

Always good to see how the peer-group is faring. A rising tide lifts all boats.

Excellent finish to the week for Ashmore.

Re-testing all-time-highs of 530p achieved already this month.

More short closing.

Now down to just 0.98% and that's just one remaining shorter, Odey.

When you consider that 4 years ago, Ashmore was one of the most heavily shorted UK stocks with shorts totalling just shy of 10%, this has been an enormous change in sentiment.

And in all that time, Ashmore never reduced or missed any dividend.

Time is however now right for an increase in dividend which would allow the share to fly unfettered.

MASSIVE INCREASE/UPGRADE in PRICE TARGET by Barclays today.

Rieterates Equal Weight and

INCREASE target price (from 465p) to 540p.

Seem like fantastic Trading Update results to me. Better than could even be expected.

Irrational pull-back from recent 530p highs in my view. Just some short-termers taking short-term trading gains methinks.

Still closing their short position.
Odey now from 1.28% to 1.18%.


And on Friday 5th. July, Peel Hunt put out a REITERATE BUY recommendation.


If Ashmore management increase the dividend, the share will be free to fly.

The only declared short is Odey who have been steadily closing their short position which stood at 2% in mid-March. They are now at 1.28% short.

The March price was 400p. So, now at 530p that position is significantly/massively running against them and hurting.

In my view only, they are likely to continue closing out. Perhaps with increasing urgency.
