Dear Jana Verk,

As a shareholder in Ascent Resources I had expected a member of the European Union to follow a fair procedure to issue permits to a British company.

The IPPC permit had been issued up until it was withdrawn on appeal in 2016.

Three appeals finally had the appellant removed as they were considered to be vexatious by the Slovenian Court.

That was in November 2017. The IPPC was removed immediately on the date of the appeal in April, 2016 and yet Ascent Resources are still waiting since November, 2017 for the reinstatement of the IPPC Permit.

It would appear that not only the appellant has been vexatious in the extreme delay in getting this resolved.

Ascent Resources went to Slovenia to extract their gas for their benefit and yet have had multiple obstacles placed in their way by the Slovenian government.

Hopefully you can help to resolve this in the meeting tomorrow with the Environment Agency.

Jana,

I understand from a fellow investor in AST Resources Slovenia that an emergency meeting with the environment agency of Slovenia has been arranged for tomorrow.

The investment that AST has made in Slovenia, 50 million euros, is in real jeopardy following a protracted process to apply for, amend and issue environment licences to enable AST to re-enter and maintain its existing gas producing wells Pg10 and Pg11a and build a gas processing plant required to supply gas to the Slovenian network.

There now appears to be an impasse in which the parties involved are blaming one another for the delays in issuing the permits, it has also been suggested that a third party with an interest in the Petoslovic gas field may be interferring in the licence issuing process.

The CEO of AST states it is beyond his understanding why the Slovenian authorities persist in requesting information already provided or additional information that was not requested earlier in the process.

There is evidence that suggests Geoenergo, JV partner, has been tardy in its esponses to ARSO with incompleted applications compounding the problem.

As a shareholder in AST I want the company to continue in its investment strategy in Slovenia,but to do this it must receive support from the relevant agencies in Slovenia, providing employment, tax revenue and most importantly a reliable and secure supply of gas for its residents.

I should appreciate confirmation that tomorrow's meeting with ARSO is convened and details of its outcome
