01/5/2009 11:09 | thanks sll. thats what seems to be driving the price this morning | bobdown2
29/4/2009 19:35 | bob - in my view, a distinct lack of sellers and a few determined buyers = share price recovery here. maybe people are now starting to think that Aspen Finance may indeed exercise their 1/8/8 loan conversion rights (to equity) before the first (and by far the most attractively priced) conversion point on/by 30/6/9. If so, that would trigger an offer for the group at something closer to TNAV than today's (still bedraggled) share price which is about 20% of projected TNAV at 30/6/9, pre-conversion. | sll
29/4/2009 16:06 | a recovery is going on here. does not seem to interest anyone though! | bobdown2
14/4/2009 11:48 | Funny how the markets turn out to be right. It had a simialrly low PE over 2 years ago when it was so "undervalued". Now there may be some sort of bottom though. | nicedude1976
31/3/2009 16:10 | shawzie - I agree that the statement is much as (maybe a tad better) than expected. The forward (i.e. current half year) comments are also mildly encouraging, within an admittedly savage wider construction market context. | sll
31/3/2009 10:52 | Half-Year Financial Statement better than I expected and pleased to see that the "Goodwill" has been eliminated from the Balance Sheet. If NAV per share is around £2, with 8M shares on issue, then a further issue of 8M shares say at 20p would raise £1.8M and still leave NAV substantially above the current share price. Would the market take up new shares or would the time be right for ART to be taken private? | shawzie
19/3/2009 18:42 | would anyone like to put their hands up? | sll
15/3/2009 08:37 | Yes I saw the prices paid at the YSL auction incredible when you think we are in a recession. | mitzis
15/3/2009 08:31 | im looking for Grand Tour bronzes, the YSL sale was good but the prices ran away so still looking to add. Hopefully some more Stately homes will be folding and selling bits that havent seen the light of day for centuries. | westcoastrich
15/3/2009 08:25 | More of Syds artwork on sale.. | mitzis
18/2/2009 18:59 | Another of Syd Barretts art works a mosaic sold on E- Bay yesterday for £10700 estimates were between £5 and £10K.A record for a Syd piece of work. | mitzis
08/2/2009 13:58 | Christies and Sotheby's shot themselves in the foot by increasing fees to 25%, most auctioneers are still at 13% to 15% rates and most charge 6% to trade customers. Both the big boys dont offer discounts. We recently had apainting that didnt sell at Sothebys and then placed in a small Cornish auction fetched exactly what we wanted. Says it all really. News ==== Donald McIntyre has passed away (13th Jan), nice paintings. Leo McDowell has health issues and looks unlikely that he will be painting. Simeon Stafford has started to be bought by Adolphe Valette collectors, interesting, Valette taught Lowry who turned out to be a family friend of the Staffords. Prices have trebled in the last two years, be careful to choose the right works though, prices are dictated by size AND content - a bit like Fred Yates work. | sven2006
03/2/2009 23:44 | Due to the continuing uncertainty for Speymill Contracts and the Group as a whole, Speymill has requested the immediate suspension of trading in its shares on AIM pending clarification of the Group's financial position. Further to an announcement on 26 January 2009, Speymill has obtained interim financing by way of a committed loan facility of GBP3.3 million ("the Loan") from two directors of Speymill, Jim Mellon and Bob MacDonald. Should still be able to pay rent to Artisan. | shawzie
20/1/2009 19:57 | Fme that little M does need a 4x4 she is HUGE! | moet poet
20/1/2009 13:49 | Sold 5000 at 24.55p. | shawzie
08/1/2009 22:29 | With now further collapsed interest rates, are we nearing a turning point here? At some point, legs (shaky at first, to be sure) will start to appear under at least some segments of the housing market. There appear to be one or two small nibbles at this much reduced pricing level. Of course, these tiny buys may herald a false dawn. The general newsflow out there is still fairly dire. ART's next pre-interim update may be more interesting. steve | sll
26/12/2008 09:41 | lol. and Eartha Kitt today I'll miss her. | mitzis
26/12/2008 09:37 | mitzis - 25 Dec'08 - 14:30 - 197 of 197 Pinter is dead. Yes. I gather they had a two minutes silence at a performance of The Caretaker last night but no one noticed. | bluebelle
25/12/2008 14:30 | Another similar artist to John Yardley... Pinter is dead. | mitzis |
