Well Art is definitely a good investment. Look at Andrew Gifford, Fred Yates, Donald McIntyre, Leo McDowell and Michael Morgan - all set for good increases in the near future. Like shares though, do your own research and buy what YOU like not what others suggest.

Birmingham Art Fair this weekend at the Gas Hall. Looks like there could be loads of good stuff for sale.

The art collection of Victor and Sally Ganz, a low-key Manhattan couple who spent 50 years and about $2 million buying the work of artists like Picasso and Jasper Johns, sold at Christie's last night for a record $206.5 million.

LOS ANGELES - A dozen valuable paintings including works by Marc Chagall, Diego Rivera and Emil Nolde were stolen from the home of an elderly couple, and police issued an international alert to recover them.

(..This combination of two photos provided by the Los Angeles Police Department shows paintings titled 'Peasants' by Marc Chagall,' left, and Alicia Alanova' by Kees van Dongen, that where stolen from a home in Los Angeles on Aug. 23, 2008. A $200,000 reward was offered Tuesday, Sept. 9. 2008, for the return of as many as 12 paintings by Marc Chagall, Diego Rivera and other masters worth millions of dollars.)

A $200,000 reward was offered Tuesday for help in recovering the artwork, stolen Aug. 23 from a home in the San Fernando Valley. Police have notified auction houses, the FBI and Interpol in case someone tries to sell the paintings.

"These are world-class pieces," said Richard Rice, a senior consultant at the Gallerie Michael in Beverly Hills. "Every single one is museum caliber."

I ceased to be a holder several years ago,but still watch to see for how long Artisan remains publicly traded. I suspect that Stevens will use the terms of the convertible loan note as a ploy to take ART private for next to nothing.

If Aspen converted loan notes partially into shares to breach 30% at what price would they be obliged to offer existing shareholders for remaining shares ?
Not sure how to read this - is it a way for Aspen to quickly execeed a 30% holding, in this market 1.25% over base seems very generous, one always suspects a hidden motive with this share.

This is a pure gamble play and I am no longer a gambler.

There could be upside or if the markets are calling this right then the fat lady is getting up from her seat....

I will watch from the touchline, I want some visibility on the Co from the board - something that is currently not forthcoming.
