It’s showing offer at 3.60p and bid at 3.10p. Surely that can’t be right, that spread is huge! Although atleast it would put off new investors from selling.

Another positive sign that the deal will go ahead and will be significant is the fact that none of the directors have cashed in their significant share options even though they are entitled to do so. The option price is 1.55. So they must know something significantly positive to have held back so far

Expecting quarterlies 21st 22nd Feb (give MDV time to get his feet under table from Cape Town visit and would expect MOU following Friday/Monday. Quarterlies will shown record figures and capital debt to be repaid in April. This should provide a nice fillet to the share price prior to an MOU announcement. Between now and the 21st I don't see why the share price wouldn't increase to 3.5p and the quarterlies up this to 4p. Historically the positive news has triggered sellers this time I feel investors dare not be out of it ahead of the MOU announcement. Some my feel this is a ramp but I feel this is is a realistic scenario.

The AAU chart is a lot more stable and rising. I have a small holding in AAU.

Without ramping I have gently drawn AAU to the attention of EUA advfn posters in the hope that they will see the benefits of investing here. Some might dip a toe into the water but I doubt many would sell EUA before it gets sold (that's how it looks right now). Besides, as shortarm says it is still under suspension so nothing being bought or sold at the moment.

Any idea what the 'social media speculation' was over at EUA? Presumably it's a positive development though and not on a knife-edge?

Chart looks too hot to be selling any and each share you own may soon have a decent divvy attached to it.
Also when it is definite we are getting $30m to the coffers this is sure to go much nearer to 4p.

Plus probably record quarterly income for Q4.

Apart from the quick turn merchants there are two other types of sellers I have some sympathy with: those that have been in since 0.8p, have held for three to four years and see this as a pretty good profit and those who bought at 3p or higher and now see the chance of just about getting their money back.

I have some shares for both these reasons and it is difficult not to check what the bid is every half an hour or so when there is livelier action like this. I'll admit that today I have had a bit of an itchy finger myself - I just haven't succumbed.
I had to sell around 300k last year in dribs and drabs between 2.2 and 2.77 to pay some household bills. That share price looks to be in the distant past now. Enough said. Ive been holding with Kerim for over 9 years now - there is much more to come on this share.

Whoever posted up the link to the recent sandstorm presentation, after the bit about Hod Maden (seemingly no longer Hot Maden), it mentioned that they're asset heavy in north / south america and the plan is to balance this up going forward with acquisitions elsewhere....

With the JV materially affecting the percentage ownership of the assets, I would think at some point that the far more likely outcome is a trade sale of those assets to the other JV partners or a buyout of the whole lot. A bid for the company would seem unlikely unless it is in the context of an asset purchase. If the proceeds of the cash lead to the building up of a portfolio of wholly owned assets then a trade sale of the JV assets rather than takeover seems to me to be the inevitable outcome.

It is strange, had a JV not been mentioned, it would have just been business as usual, but there’s been a lot of talk about it lately, so could see the share price dropping if it doesn’t get agreed.

As you say dixi, it’s a win/win for us. We’ll either enter into a JV and get Salinbas into production a bit quicker or as Biggles says a potential buy out later down the line. Can’t imagine us being bought out if we enter into a JV though. Having someone do the work for us on site, allowing us to concentrate on exploration is exactly what the board would want.

Nope my intentions are long term and I feel the best way to recoup most money is to hold for next few years for an inevitable buy out.

It's really a bit 'win / win' either with or without the JV AAU has so much to offer. It's not as though anything is hanging in the balance - so what's not to like either way - great position for investors to be in.

I was joking, I didn’t think it was actually biggles. Must be someone with a big holding if they’re unloading these types of figures. Unless they’ve sold up completely thinking we’re going to drop again. My personal opinion though, it’s unlikely we’re dropping below 3p again, unless the JV doesn’t work out as this will scare some people off.
