"We are very pleased to report our preliminary drilling results from the Salinbas Gold Project, since it became 100% held by Ariana. These results, while only partial at this stage, demonstrate the development of a major magmatic-hydrothermal system in the vicinity of the Ardala Cu-Au-Mo porphyry. The latest data confirms that the mineralised part of the Ardala porphyry, which is enriched in precious and base-metals, does connect intimately with the Salinbas gold-silver zone and that the two systems should in fact be treated as one. This was a prediction from our earlier geological modelling and is a finding that bodes exceptionally well for the discovery of further mineralisation in the vicinity, particularly in the immediate surrounds of the Ardala porphyry. This is an area, which to date, has been poorly explored. Consequently we continue to remain excited by the exploration upside of the project and look forward to commencing our follow-up work programmes."

Aye; though I also think back to the first conference call that Eldorado did after having first found Salinbas - 4/5 grown men in charge of a large gold company but who got very giddy when mentioning Salinbas.

I think it's there in millions of ozs but also mindful that zack said after this latest drilling they were "just scratching the surface".

So the 2000m must be spread pretty thin, trying to tick a few different boxes. That said they won't be targeting their worst anomalies. They'll be hopeful. Either way a lot of drilling will be needed to move beyond this "exploration target". As a geologist this phrase suggests much arm waving, but the truth will out with sufficient drilling.

sonoftherock, my notes re this 2000m drilling are "increase confidence in the EXISTING Salinbas (Main) resource, in addition to conceptually testing the Salinbas Main and Salinbas North exploration targets....plus significant anomalies indentified at Ardala North will also be tested".

Salinbas Main & Salinbas North relate to the additional explo resource target of 2.7m oz gold & 16.1m oz silver.

I'm obviously interested to see what turns up at SM & SN - Salinbas South is also part of the 2.7m explo increase - but it's that bit where SN and Ardala North meet which, for me, could be really interesting and important; if that proves to be decent who knows what the explo target might be thereafter and especially after the main drilling later in the year?

Good post mcmather.It's why I've been saying that we probably need at least one strong hit to really get things moving. It's not a big drilling programme, so won't be definitive, but an absence of elevated gold levels wouldn't be great news IMO.

The Salinbas scoping study is 650,000oz gold for average grade 2.0g/t gold & 10g/t silver.

However, Salinbas North is said to be TEN TIMES more enriched (at least in silver) than Salinbas Main (the original zone).

Although the gold / silver grades in the main Ardala prospect / porphyry are relatively low - higher in base metals - where Ardala North meets Salinbas North "represents a significantly gold enriched porphyry system" with the video (youtube) from 28 June 2018 suggesting "the potential to identify a steeply plunging breccia pipe style of mineralisation....akin to that encountered in places within the Hot Maden deposit".

Over the past 18 months KS has made an increasing number of references to "Hot Maden" like mineralisations / deposits so I'm not discounting similarities.

The twitter post 7 June 2019 re the recent drilling included:

Re styles; these ones have little growth on top, they look a bit toothless, they jig about quite a bit the further south they travel but at the heart is gold. Up here in the north we call them styles, "Nobby".

Don't really adhere to tachnical charts ect but just looked up flag and pennant and you would argue against a sharp tick up to 3p in the not too distant future if I did believe in them. I prefer to follow positive news so I'll go with a tick up to 5 p in not to distant future on back of news build up which has been implied will be quiet reasonable. ?

POG aligning very nicely with Powell and Trump comments reinforcing a lower $ and higher gold, setting aside a world drowning in fiat debt.... No time to be selling gold stocks. Beautiful ‘flag and pennant ‘ developing here.

The results will NOT be hot maden style - this is a different style of deposit!Good for a few million ounces initially but more longer term

Selling before significant drill results is a 'safe' time to sell. If the market is awaiting them eagerly then there is always the possibility that the results do not meet expectations even if they are good so to sell beforehand avoids that potential. I would love to see Hot Maden style results here but suspect that it won't meet those lofty heights. I do expect the results to be suggestive of a decent deposit though.
