I don't like the dilution (especially at today's SP, albeit it could have been worse last month at 1.7p) and would have far preferred to see the acquisition done half in cash (from either reserves or borrowings especially since Tavsan will be throwing off cash shortly) and only half through newly issued equity. That would have ensured newly motivated board members and equity holders without the potential danger of a reverse takeover - it wouldn't cost the Rockover management a huge amount to buy 12.5% - 13% of AAU's equity and take effective control

At least 3 years to production, lock-in period of 12 months with a further 12 month orderly market limit. I don't like the differential between production and them being able to offload their shares given they live in Zimbabwe and are about to be handed £19m. They just monetized their investment in a private company and we have a long way to go to see production.

When will the Board wake up and accept they need experts to advise on these sorts of deals to ensure shareholders get fair value and the deal is financially sound. The communication in all its aspects also needs to be appropriately worded and presented to address the City, Institutional Investors and pte shareholders. So far a lack lustre RNS just doesn't cut mustard. Respect and trust in the City is crucial. Have they added to that today.

A major Corporate initiative would normal correspond with a lot of excitement and an inpouring of new investors. But again this communication is woefully thin on facts

Will need to beef up the Non-execs on the board as these new directors will hardly be independent, though they will have a lot of skin in the game following the large share issue (some might exceed MdV's holding).

Current Non-execs aren't up to it and there is now far greater risk and complexity.

This looks as if it has great potential to me, but we need to wait for more info. Broadening the expertise on the board looks good too.

5huu, perhaps Biggles needs to get in their ear early on letting them know we need a lot more, and better quality, information before we (circa 25% holding) will approve this deal

Kerim must loathe the the UK markets by now!!

Well he hasn't actually played them well dixi, nor has he come into the 21st century and availed the market and it's shareholders of what is required now in PR and communication.
He only has himself to blame with the reaction as he has and continues to run this like a private company.
AND he should have put professionals in place to do such instead of a weary useless Chairman and stuck useless Yellow Jersey between himself and shareholders.

Kerim must loathe the the UK markets by now!!

Personally I think this news has to be worth something on the share price for the potential. Increasing as AAU realise the potential stage by stage. Wishful thinking!!

Total dividend paid (if ever) from Tavsan/Kiziltepe to shareholders will presumably need to be spread across the new shares too. So some capital appreciation wouldn't go amiss to balance. But as the goalposts keep moving in a blur, who knows what we will get. So here we sit!!

MMs..... low life, but they cannot control for ever.

Hope it means a better price for you Renniks.

Acually, chartwise, the drop not a bad move as it sets it up nicely for the next step upwards, we shall see.

So, what does the market give a company, on average, for an Inferred ounce of gold? M&I? P&P? To answer this, we combed through every company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and the TSX Venture Exchange (TSX-V) and pulled out the ones with 43-101-compliant gold resource estimates (or mostly gold) – no silver, copper, etc. Of these, we kept only those with resources that fall almost entirely into only one of our three broad groups: Inferred, M&I, and P&P leaving us with about 90 companies to calculate some averages on and we got these numbers:• US$20 per ounce Inferred• US$30 per ounce for M&I• US$160 per ounce for P&P Interesting or not?

It's a typical muted reaction because Ariana are just not on anyone's radar other than us loyal long termers (proven by our combined holdings). Hopefully they will see that has to change when announcing a deal like this. Lots of gold in the ground and the expertise and experience to get it out, but a long way to go before we can get to that point.

Someone once told me that clarity and messaging are more important than what you're communicating about, and gave the example that if you advertised a Ferrari as a runaround town car you wouldn't sell any.Not quite the same thing, but while today's news could be great, I don't think anyone really knows what it means for shareholders. Would've been good to outline more clearly how and when this may benefit shareholders rather than just telling us it'll add value.Feels like the Ozaltin experience starting over, whereby there will be a few months of debate around whether it's good before a vote gets passed and we may see a jump in share price
