My two picks for 2025 were Ariana (AAU) at 1.95p per share and Golden Prospect (GPM) at 35.5p. Both Gold investments, it has been a game of two halves so far – one up and one down. Meanwhile, the yellow metal has powered ahead.

The price of gold hit a new all-time high after a weaker-than-expected jobs report from the United States seemed to grow demand for safe-haven assets.Additionally, ongoing trade tensions between the US and China also impacted the markets, while the possibility of the US imposing tariffs on Mexico and China after the end of the 30-day extension period added to the uncertainty.Gold increased 1.01% at 10:49 am ET and sold for $2.885,07 per ounce while silver went up 0.97%, selling for $32.58 per ounce at the same minute. Platinum added 0.08%, exchanging for $990.06 per ounce one minute later. Palladium, on the other hand, dropped 0.64% to sell for $965.04 per ounce at the same time. |

Thanks. That is a bit more like it. Some very encouraging comments re the grades - For the forthcoming Mineral Resource Estimate, but also in terms of the potential size & importance of Dokwe. But most of all I was delighted to learn of the significant interest in the Co at the Cape Town conference from global funds etc. That is something we haven't expressed for a very long time and perhaps suggests that the Co could be turning the corner. |

Saw this on the LSE SVE board from end of Jan. Veracity unconfirmed!
"Received a reply from one of their associates Ciada Brennan. Basically just referred me to their most recent statement from 10th January which really doesn't tell me anything we didn't already know. Key points noted below but still no firm date.
Company held shares in AAU it has been necessary to sell £97k worth so far to discharge liabilities of liquidation.
6.6 million held but further may need to be sold to settle final costs.
AAU shares will be distributed in specie to members, documentation will be sent to members detailing the distribution once this has been declared. I am currently liaising with share registrars to progress final distribution. |
This was last years Zimbabwe news where they increased the allowance from 60% to 75%, seems to me they are trying to find the correct balance!
