Think they were referring to the Venus IPO and Apliki being tied up |
It might have been the Q&A. They said it had been put on hold until after the asx listing to limit complications. Surely someone else remembers this 🤷a94;️ |
Cynically I suspect it has been put on hold because no one in the city was interested in it! |
I was under the impression that the Venus IPO was all tied up with the mysteriously halted Apliki acquisition? |
The Venus IPO was on ice JD until the Asx listing was complete, that was said in a RNS but can't quite find it at the moment. |
Just depends on the sells , progress of Tavsan price of gold. We all know it's undervalued on basis of Turkey alone so for me it's a wait and see. I think it's Rockover as can't see existing large holder getting out at these prices . It's a worked sell as sells come pretty much after buys so trying to sell and maintaining the price. But those working it like Panmure Gordon for example don't give a toss as long as they get their fees. I have seen them operate . |
I was referring to Zimbabwe I've never commented on Venus . |
bb, many thanks for that explanation in your 28292 posting of today's Newmont WTR rns. Appreciated. Gla. |
Thanks Huffster I have just looked that up and see what you are referring to. Lets hope that actually comes to something. |
Shareholders have NOT been told Venus is on ice.
From Dec RNS.
Cyprus: Over 9,000m of drilling is planned to increase confidence in currently defined resources and to test other targets. Discussions are underway to potentially advance the projects in partnership with other groups. |
Soul Must have missed that. Is that the Venus IPO on ice until the ASX listing (that many of us don't want) is complete? Or that they have locked the gates in Cyprus and left? |
Thank you BB. I think I misinterpreted and was expecting a statement from the company. The persistent seller could well be a AAU shareholder(s) who has given up, as well as Rockover shareholders enjoying the chance of generating liquidity. We will be lucky to see 2p this year let alone 3p. |
JD asks about Venus/Apliki biggles. As shareholders have been told that Venus is on ice until the Asx listing is done and the Asx listing has been put almost permanently on gardening leave then how do the Cyprus assets stand and how do Venus keep a going concern for an unknown length of time? |
The update turned into an offer of a visit to Zimbabwe to meet with the team. Although generous I couldn't commit to 26 hours traveling for day and a half. I went back thanking and asking for a teams meet but this was through YJ who are useless in my opinion. With Zimbabwe they told us ASX delayed until mid year minimum , I don't want to see it at all at these prices. Assay results we were told are being assessed. Zimbabwe free carry is an unknown and out of their hands. Tarsvan continues await weather improvement . Main uncertainty is how they intend to finance Dowke. My view is their only viable option is a JV and with the right partner it would be a good investment however I feel they are maximising resource before committing to a finance path so difficult to elaborate when things are so in the air. And the persistent seller doesn't help. |
Great deal for Newmont. |
We are still waiting for the update 'in a few days' which I believe was promised to BB about the Zimbabwe situation. Any benefit of the doubt about the credibility that we used to give to Seners words is fading fast for many if us. I also remember in the deep recesses of my brain that in one or other of the Q&A sessions last year he was asked about the dead end that is Venus minerals and in particular whether Apliki was still possible . In an answer to the question, which was along the lines of what is happening, he enthusiastically said I'm actually off there in a few days and will update shortly. I may have dreamt that (I am after all a lot older than when I first invested here) but I don't think so. |
Cool millions to be made here on current gold prices and pipeline |
I suppose the hope is that after they hit 75% they buy us out for a few million which KS can spaff up the wall on some bluesky project in North Korea. |
why do the likes of ariana even do such exploration? is it even worth it??
o Newmont has the option to invest a further US$1 million in the Mining Company over a further period of two years, enabling it to earn-in to 60% in such Mining Company.
o Expenditure of a further US$15 million on a pre-feasibility study, which establishes a JORC or NI43-101 resource of over two million ounces of gold, will enable Newmont to earn-in to 75%. |
So if I read it correctly, Newmont will own 85% of the company if ultimately it is successful? How much might that benefit AAU shareholders? Gla. |
I should have said world's largest gold producer. My mistake. |
Again it is Mentor that is showing himself as the man worth backing. The outlook for WTR appears very exciting. Such an alliance and such financial support, albeit peanuts to Newmont, from the World's largest gold Co. is something that will get the industry taking notice off. Well done. |
It's good to see them paying more than today's pathetic destroyed share price, but it's not good to see them paying 2.375p when it was 2.7p at the start of last month and still might be if our great leader had declared the Dokwe risk factors like he was supposed to. |
Good to see Newmont paying 2.375p and congratulations to Mentor on success to date. |
