...I suspect there is a seller around as I managed to get them relatively easily, well below the published offer.

Primed for launch here imo, positive news now and this shoots up. Hopefully it wont be so long that fingers get itchy at these levels again.

There is a hell of a disconnect in the past couple of months between AAU and almost every other gold and silver producer that I know of. For those who ask why, I would suggest lack of punch in the company's news and outlook. For those who know AAU of old this is par for the course but I do know the undervaluation can't last. The lid is going to blow on this one and imho it won't be long either!

Very coiled! But at this level so many 'loose' holder have let go that when it sets off it will be a proper case of the zoomies!

My point is that they are paying in Turkish Lira, and you can see what is happening to that and must know why. OK, they pay spot price and Zenit immediately change to dollars except for Lira they need.

I think they are paying full price at the moment whereas if they owned the mines they wouldn't. I'm not suggesting this is going to happen, my point was it's a nice position to be in, I will feel much safer being the minority partner in a Turkish business.

Lottsgold - Why would Turkey even consider taking over the mine(s)? The government buy all the gold output with Turkish Lira, which they could print at minimal cost. They don't have to run the mines, sort out the problems or find additional resources. Basically the government are getting all our gold at no cost to themselves. Not a bad business to be in.

Ozaltin have a lot of clout in Turkey that is very helpful for getting EIA forestry and other permits very quickly.

I do like the fact there is a clear exit strategy in Turkey. If gold does make crazy new highs the government hopefully won't look at grabbing our mines as they will be majority Turkish anyway. I'd be happy with the San Miguel, just incase anyone is stocking the bar in anticipation!
