27/1/2021 11:08 | The problem is they never really commit them as deadlines, they just state them as aims and don't seem worried if they don't make it. It's that Flakey spirit and lack of appreciation of the impact it has on attracting investors which stalls the share price frequently. Even right now, we were led to believe the only outstanding point of the deal was the competition authority, yet it still isn't signed. There may well be a good reason for this but as usual shareholders are left guessing. I do have a slight concern still about what Kerim touched on during the interview last week, he mentioned in passing that there was an outstanding issue to be resolved with the structure of the JV, I took it to mean personnel wise as opposed to any significant legal/procedural point but maybe that is what is still not resolved. Whatever it is, we shouldn't be left guessing, that's the issue here. | kirbs4

27/1/2021 08:59 | Expected Completion date per the Circular was end of January, so they don't have much time left to meet their own deadline. This should have completed the day after CAA received. | ![]() xow98
27/1/2021 08:29 | Pretty hefty volume overall yesterday for AAU, I wonder what that has flushed through? Hopefully some stability is due? | ![]() dixi

26/1/2021 16:47 | plasybryn, to me this means the market thinks the rise in pms last year will not hold and are pricing related mining stocks for a fall in pm prices. if pm prices move up even a little to sustained level, say gold past 1900, there is every chance that discount will narrow. i am surprised we have not seen that happen already with biden's trillions added to the already historic printing that has gone on and the economic damage caused by covid which we have not yet seen fully played out. is it me or are the markets in denial? meantime perhaps aau will do itself a favour and get that jv sorted!! | ![]() konil
26/1/2021 16:36 | From a recent Sprott Gold report: Gold mining shares represent unprecedented value in comparison to conventional equity alternatives. On valuation, gold mining stocks trade at a 50% discount to the S&P 500 Total Return Composite Index. Gold miners trade at EV/EBITDA2 of 7.81x compared to the equal-weighted S&P 500 of 16.76x, the widest spread in 10 years. | ![]() plasybryn
26/1/2021 15:15 | BB - I was having a look at the other board - around april last year (an interesting recommended reflection) - you said there was persistent seller back then. I took notice and sold a lot back then. You were right. And the estate is just an add on it looks like. thank you for that insight back then solicitors - translators .... done the contract l2 months ago - almost, nothing has changed ..... no, no, I do not buy it LOL - I ended up defending BOD - funny | ![]() kaos3
26/1/2021 14:56 | You're probably right, but why not tell us when we all assumed that government approval would be the last delay. I presume they have internet access in Oz and therefore the falling share price of AAU is visible to people there... | ![]() jaf1948
26/1/2021 14:55 | The divi will be reinvested by many to take advantage of the drilling at salinbas therefore any dip will be short lived. The more I see heavy dumping to more I'm convinced it's the beneficiaries of the deceased estate liquidating . Therefore no reflection on fundamentals imho. I've said it before but I'm more comfortable with the situation the company is in now than when it was 6.3p. Hence adding as much as finances will allow . | ![]() bigglesbingham

26/1/2021 14:36 | kaos, I didn't actually say that - I said that they should explain WHY there is a delay. | ![]() jaf1948
26/1/2021 14:36 | koas, false premise. just because chicken grew same each day for 150 days does not mean 100% certainty 151st day would be the same. in fact each of the previous 150 days might have been different. each successive day that it remained the same the odds of the next day being the same got less and the probability of arriving at day 150 with nothing being different is infinitesimally small. that is the only conclusion one can draw from the statistical elements of the story. as for real life, yeah, anything can happen. | ![]() konil
26/1/2021 14:35 | JAF - if you look through my glasses - AAU can not tell it all (it is in the best interest of its shareholders to go along and keep quite) and does not control the timing of the process. The butcher does. Dont you think that BOD would sign it long ago - if it was to them? They are loosing reputation, money and time - but have to go along for some reason. All parts that they can control are doing well imho chicken can not oppose the force. next time it can avoid it. lesson learned | ![]() kaos3
26/1/2021 14:23 | Even if one is feeling charitable and says the fall is not due to the company's actions (or inactions), a path back to a higher share price is clearly something the company can influence - an immediate RNS explaining the delay in the signing of the JV should be issued tomorrow including, if it can, the completion date or failing that, a promise to keep the market informed on a regular basis. | ![]() jaf1948
26/1/2021 14:11 | I'm hoping he won't ever plan to cull his chickens, at worst sell them to a younger farmer to keep growing them in the future. I'll be adding once the drop slows. The whole market is red for some reason. Correction before the off I hope. Good luck all, enough defending from me today. Hoping we can all start feeling more confident in the very near future. | ![]() lottsgold
26/1/2021 14:07 | Kerim raised a golden chicken as far as I am concerned and hence I am hanging around him and his chicken I apologize for my substandard language skills | ![]() kaos3
26/1/2021 14:04 | I ll try to write up an ancient Greek story about math, statistics and real life - a reference Nassim Taleb once made and I looked it up and that I think it is very relevant: a small chicken is born and it weights 20 gramms. each day it eats, drinks, plays, sleeps. after 150 days this chicken weights 1 kg and all the days were the same. what is statistical chance of the 151 day of the chicken being the same? it is 100 % ON PAPER chicken was behind a fence fed and kept by a farmer. at 1001 gramm chicken got slaughtered. REAL LIFE in real life there always is a farmer/butcher looking for his project to get ripe for the slaughter and that is what is going on. but it is just my opinion and I am probably completely wrong | ![]() kaos3 |
