But most of that $43m is not in the company now, nothing's earning in the company now, and just because someone paid large sums of money for shares in a company a few years back, that doesn't signify anything if it's now 'Money Sunk and Lost'. Case in point:- Tens of millions have gone into Argos at share prices multiples of today, and it paid for Seismic that showed targets equally as good as next door Rockhopper, all to no avail if you can't get the money to drill it, and if the backers you do get back out. |
it's not because jhi is private and shares arent tradeable on a market. but as an investment, better than arg as they have the clout and finance to get the assets moving forward. they will no doubt float in due course to materialise their assets |
If JHL shares is £1.50 per share.ARG shareholders will have 8m x £1.5 = 12m.Therefore, ARG should now be trading at 12/220 = 5.45p |
pirates
8,000,000 in exchange for 213,000,000 shares
JHI sold a stake back 2021 for $2 per share
www.oedigital.com/news/488764-eco-atlantic-joins-exxonmobil-s-canje-block-off-guyana
so if you have 1,000,000 arg shares, you will get 38,000 JHI shares
even if JHI shares are worth say $1.50, then your stake in JHI is worth $57,000
they are churning out $43m+ profit (that was a few years ago... it'd be nearly double that now)

8,467,820 JHI Common Shares Compared to 213,000,000 outstanding in ARG.Not much to had out, if ARG are cancelling their shares. |
So why aren't the ARG announcements telling us that ? |
from another board : if you guys do the calcs, JH Assoc. have paid quite a hefty sum... certainly way more than the current market cap of ARG. ARG shareholders are getting a slice of JH Assoc super cheap. The company makes $40m+ profit / annum. Last time they sold shares in the company to another outfit, the price was c£1.60 per share. This deal values the ARG shares at 4p. |
Another lesson is don't be as negative as this guy in life and you'll be fine :D VAST will get your losses back today ;) |
46% spread......crazy |
The old Falklands oil game Never fails to lure in the punters Never fails to fleece them |
Yes it does feel like PI's will get shafted here as the private entity will be untradeable (unless they list and if they had wanted could have reversed into ARG). How do PI's get any money out of a Private Canadian company.
I'm assuming ARL refers to the limited company not the LSE ticker ARG.
Anyone have an upto date list of major shareholders? PI's could vote against it but im sure they set 75% vote knowing they have the numbers.

Falklandi, you held 2.4m shares at average 18p at one point and loved telling that story. Hope you are still holding them 😂😂128514;😂8514;😂 |
In addition to the North Falkland Basin Licence PL001, the transaction gives ARL shareholders access to potential upside in the Canje licence, offshore Guyana, in a basin that has been the highlight of the oil industry for several years, enjoying prolific success from numerous giant oil discoveries.Who are ARL shareholders, don't they mean ARG. Can't get the name right. |
You dont thats the whole point. They can dilute you out of sight whenever they wish: effectively their taking the company for 0000 |
Nothing without risk, your money your call....ALL IMHO-DYOR |
How much is JHI worth ? I couldn't find much information about them on websites |
Anything to put us out of our misery ! |
Ultimately shareholders may reject the offer as it undervalues the company. This may flush out another bid or an existing player to step in...rkh, navitas etc. Arg's licenses are adjacent existing large discoveries... |
Ok that's good but how do we sell the resulting shares in a Private company ? |
