04/5/2007 13:04 | From the 30th April RNS "De-bottlenecking steps to increase gas handling have been defined, requiring instrumentation equipment which has been ordered and is expected to be installed on site by end May. Together the problems solved plus the de-bottlenecking steps are expected to significantly increase the average production capability for the rest of the year." | wiganer
04/5/2007 13:01 | A poster on another bb board has been in contact with the CEO by email and has been told that oil production fot the last 3 weeks has been at 15000 brls/day | thebaron
04/5/2007 11:11 | Thanks, Wiganer and sranmal :-) | ed 123
04/5/2007 10:30 | Ed - RAK will get round to AEL eventually. From past links on this BB, they're looking for a number of acquisitions (up to 5??) and have billions in backing. They've already acquired GKP and certain assets from IPL. | sranmal
04/5/2007 10:04 | WTN from time to time gets out of line with its TSX price, to the tune of being 10% or more below TSX price, often for a few days, but then recovers to close the gap, which then triggers a little run. See WTN spikes in Nov/Dec 06 and April 07. | wiganer
04/5/2007 09:56 | Such big arb opps rarely persist for long. If it wasn't a May bank holiday weekend I suspect it wouldn't be this extreme. | wiganer
04/5/2007 08:43 | Ed 123 - 4 May'07 - 07:39 - 1355 of 1357 ASX:AZA is up 8.9% on 4 million volume. Could be a nice day here :-) I'd love to think so Ed but unfortunately experience suggests otherwise :-( Anyway, I thought I'd post the current version of my AEL valuation vis-a-vis AZA spreadsheet - just to make the point! | spacecowboy3

03/5/2007 08:53 | For anyone thinking of buying, level 2 is interesting. EVO are 5 or 6 p below the other four mms. I presume EVO have stock to sell. When they are cleared this should go up. This is my interpretation, no advice intended. | ed 123
02/5/2007 19:47 | Yes, thanks, GoodGrief. Very encouraging to see AZA get a mention. Citigroup explained their rankings as follows:- Our rankings are based on four factors we believe are central to private equity considerations. Predictability, sustainability and cyclicality of earnings, high net interest cover, low valuations and scope for Earnings before Interest and Tax upside. (my comment) If someone did want AZA, they would have to do a deal with AEL or else buy AEL itself. Imho, patience should pay off here. At some point in time, I expect the market to alight on AEL. | ed 123
02/5/2007 15:01 | GoodGrief, thanks for the info. | greatfull dead
02/5/2007 08:40 | From www.investordaily.co Citigroup release private equity risk rankings BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto have topped a list of Australian firms most vulnerable to private equity bids. Citigroup also identified so called emerging companies such as oil and gas firm Anzon Australia, miner Oxiana and Jubilee Mines as ripe for a private equity takeover. | goodgrief

30/4/2007 14:10 | Is this why the share price has fallen since January? Gross field production then was reported at 13,500bbl/day with the aim of increasing to 24,000 bbl/day. | stephenwilson

28/4/2007 20:10 | It seems the market are disappointed with the results. Should that be the case? | joan of arc
26/4/2007 12:50 | It certainly looks like a buy. Final results are out. The figures will look much better this time next year. It's taking a while for the RAK connection to come up with a joint project. The cash is there, waiting. I don't mind some delay while they settle on the right opportunity. Shareprice is in the doldrums ........ as usual. To end on a brighter note, I'm also holding some NOP. Its shareprice, too, has been a miserable performer, but the market has recently taken a liking to it. Now up 80%-ish from its recent low point. It would be very possible for AEL to do the same. | ed 123
26/4/2007 09:58 | is that a 20000 buy? wow! | jonno1 |
