It may have kept us a bit more fluid, they are saving a few pennys having anzon aus and anzon energy in melbourn i supose. | markfrankie
17/4/2007 16:55 | bomfin, thanks for that info. I had missed it! | greatfull dead
17/4/2007 16:34 | Nxs update today tells an interesting story. Clearly they believe that Basker extends into their licence to the South. They've shot 3d seismic and now given a name to the prospect(sleeper) Now, Did AZA quickly realise after they got Basker on production that it extended south into NXS licence and hence the attempt to take out Nexus? or did Nexus guess that? Are they co-operating in this appraisal to the south? Anyway they got nearly 1/7th of Nexus and they have 20% of the licence to the South so if Basker does extend further to the South it's more reserves for AZA and improved economic for the project. IMHO DYOR rgds bomfin | bomfin
15/4/2007 19:54 | Pleased to hear that NTV. They get quite a big premium to Brent on oil sold. Think AZA are struggling to get 20,000 bopd from the project though. At 8,000 bopd net cash flow will still be £250,000/day until pay out of costs to develop imho which is enough to finance the upgrade in production due to come later. Need that kind of cash flow to be confirmed, or Nexus to consolidate reserves in 1,2 or 3 of their major projects or confirmation of extension of Basker field into licenses to the South for AZA share price to kick into action. all imho dyor | bomfin
15/4/2007 18:54 | recently bought a few of these | ntv

04/4/2007 09:50 | Nexus could be a beauty. Not sure about the board change today. | bomfin
04/4/2007 08:55 | Koroknay replaced by Arnett as Chairman of AEL - I wonder if this is significant?? I'm still struggling to understand the undervaluation of AEL c.f. AZA and keep coming back to some vague notion of 'the City' not liking the corporate structure. With this change, at least we no longer have Koroknay as Chairman of AEL as well as Chairman and CEO of AZA. Having said that, of course Arnett is on the Board of AZA as well. | spacecowboy3
04/4/2007 07:07 | A gross gas column of 158 metres yielding a net gas pay zone of 102 metres, well in excess of pre-drill expectations, has been intersected in the Crux-2 ST1 well drilled by Nexus Energy Ltd ("Nexus"). Nexus share price up 17% overnight. Pity AZA's takeover bid wasn't successful :-( | spacecowboy3
29/3/2007 21:25 | Karlzberg Thanks for that linke. Slide 26 is interesting :-) | spacecowboy3

27/3/2007 22:12 | Tipping out my purse now. Will those nice MMs get it down a bit further for me? A buy at 75p would be lovely. | ed 123
27/3/2007 16:21 | humm, looks like you have another chance at a great timed buy!! struth! | markfrankie
24/3/2007 08:14 | Potential to triple over next 2 years. IMHO DYOR Based on the firming up of AZA and Nexus reserves. AEL have about an 8% interest in Nexus and their reserves could also be mega. Worth some research. Nexus share price currently surpressed by the share issue at 80Ac. | bomfin
24/3/2007 00:23 | I'm in Cleo1601's camp. I'm inclined to buy the dips and hold. Loads of value here. Eventually Mr Market will wake up and price this more appropriately. | ed 123
23/3/2007 17:26 | Any accountants here? I've been trying to work out AEL's cash position. The half-year accounts to June 06 show 'Cash and cash equivalents' of AU$43.4m. Is this all AEL's cash or does it include whatever cash AZA had at that date? AEL's P&L consolidates all the income and costs of AZA, arrives at an overall profit figure and then deducts 'Profit attributable to minority interest' to account for the 40-odd% of AZA that is not owned by AEL, thus leaving 'Profit attributable to members of the parent entity'. Does anyone know if the same principles apply to the Balance Sheet? If so, how do we work out how much of 'its own' cash AEL had/has? EDIT: Sorry - think I've just answered my own question - AEL Annual Report shows Consolidated and Parent Entity balance sheets separately. | spacecowboy3
23/3/2007 16:32 | Put like that the share price really is a bit low, even in the current market. Being unloved is a double-edged thing and we have the comfort of not going through the wild swings of others. I'm confident this will come really good one of these days, and maybe not as far in the future as I used to fear before the latest news. Good luck all holders. | cleo1601
23/3/2007 16:11 | Why is this share is so unloved??!! Thought I'd just post the current version of my valuation c.f. AZA - I know it's not very different from the one I posted a few days ago - I'm just trying to convince myself that I'm right and Mr Market is wrong! | spacecowboy3
23/3/2007 09:22 | Agreed, Excellent post spacecowboy Nexus are very hopeful that Basker extends into their licence to the south. AZA have 20% of licence and about 1/7th of Nexus. | bomfin
23/3/2007 07:49 | for some unfathomable reason, this share just does not seem to be on most people's horizon. Oh well, the bright side is not having to wade through miles of rubbish to find such excellent posts as spacecowboy's latest. | cleo1601
23/3/2007 07:31 | AZA rose nearly 6% following yesterday's denial that they are bidding for Nexus. I wonder if it was rumours of a bid that have been holding the price down recently?? Or maybe yesterday's rise was more to do with the Oz market (finally) recognising the importance of the gas sales agreement. I see that the Nexus bid denial also said - ...... the announcement of the Gas Contract earlier this week, which now increases the project life to 17 years ... as shown in this slide from the recent AZA presentation. AUIU the sale of the gas (which is presumably relatively low value) will also allow the lifting and sale of the 19.1mmbbls of oil & condensate which accompany it - this alone increases BMG reserves by about 50%. | spacecowboy3
20/3/2007 10:27 | Potential to triple in next couple of years. Too much fast money in the market though so patience required. imho dyor | bomfin
20/3/2007 09:55 | Nice to see it quite here. | greatfull dead
19/3/2007 13:38 | Just got back from the gym. Nice uplift. Thanks bomfin and markfrankie. | ed 123 |
