Where is all the copper used? In manufacturing electrical parts for cars and consumer goods, plus a large part goes into new homes. All around the world consumers are reigning back on purchases and manufacturers are laying off staff, even factories in China are affected.
Short term I do not see any reason to be optimistic that China can take up all the slack from recession hit USA and Europe, so projections of record copper prices later this year should be taken with a pinch of salt.
This will go lower until some confidence in the long term economic outlook returns.
IMHO.
I sold out at 8.80 and would love to buy back in around 4.40 keeping my fingers crossed.

ANTo or XTA, hard choice as both seem bargains right now.

July 21 (Bloomberg) -- Copper gained on signs that global
demand is outpacing production of the metal, used in pipes and
wires. Demand exceeded output by 108,000 metric tons in the first
four months of the year, the International Copper Study Group
said today. Copper has gained 21 percent this year, reaching a
record this month in London, as labor protests and falling ore
grades reduced mine output.``The copper market, in our view, remains very tight,''David Moore, a commodity strategist at Commonwealth Bank of
Australia, said today in a Bloomberg Television interview.Copper futures for September delivery gained 1.2 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $3.681 a pound on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.

I reckon the bottom has been found here at 520....with the oil price slipping back I can see this starting to make its way back north towards 700p plus during the coming weeks?? With that in mind I have picked a few up at 527 so fingers crossed for a bounce from here on in.

one would think that the recent oil price slump would have made some sort of difference to the share price ....far from it.....
