10/3/2008 11:40 | I really do not understand the present drop... with copper so high.... perhaps there is something feared in the results. Disappointed that there was no rise as I expected, but added 755. Fingers crossed. Remember this share is very volotile and a 50 point move a day is not unknown. That is why it is so attractive to the day trader and the spread better. But is can go wrong - Q~UIC~K. Important not to lose nerve. Look at the range of movement on a daily basis over the last six months and dream of getting it right every wave... one would be rich. | mrtravels
10/3/2008 10:40 | Cheap at this price this morning....Would expect a nice bounce with results on tuesday!!! | aspers
08/3/2008 09:08 | Results out 0700 on the 11th, lets hope that brings a nice spike like KAZ did last week.......may just hang on for 845 or am I being too greedy??? | aspers
08/3/2008 09:06 | Results due on Tuesday. | grgkecer
08/3/2008 09:02 | MrT.....lets hope so I set my sell at 825 yesterday when I bought!! | aspers
07/3/2008 16:23 | And could have got out at 802 not long after, but did not. See what happens on Monday. It will go to about 825 I hope. | mrtravels
07/3/2008 15:12 | For the record just put a £1 bet on ANTO at 788... | mrtravels
07/3/2008 14:45 | aspers you appear to be gifted. A very volotile share. Good for spread betting. Done very well with it. You can just throw £1 or or so at it and make £50 a day. It is, in fact, the only share I have ever shorted. Bought it with about a £3 bet at around 750 recently and got out at about 810 820 and 830. Thought of shorting but felt that with copper on the up it would go to about 880 and then I would short because I was out of bets, and could not be sure it would go down again. Had I shorted with, say £5 last week I would be up about £300 now. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, they say. I am about to bet on it going up... stick with it... you should get out within a few days or weeks in the mid 800s... but remember I am gifted too. | mrtravels
07/3/2008 14:23 | Every time I buy this it takes a bludy dive!!!! bought at 795 which I thought was the days low, slowly crept back to 810 then has just crashed to 780!!!! To male my day even worse to finance this I sold HBOS at 555 only within an hour for it to hit 580.......this dealing I guess is not for me!!! | aspers

21/2/2008 12:18 | Vale Bids $89.3 Billion for Xstrata in Cash, Stock, Estado Says By Jessica Brice Feb. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Cia. Vale do Rio Doce increased its offer to buy Xstrata Plc to $89.3 billion in cash and stock, O Estado de S. Paulo reported, citing market speculation. The company is holding informal negotiations and analysts bet an informal proposal may be made as early as this week, Estado said. The Rio de Janeiro-based mining company increased its offer after it won average iron-ore price increases of at least 66.5 percent, Estado reported. Xstrata spokeswomen Claire Divver and Pam Bell didn't immediately return calls to their London office and mobile phones seeking comment. 19/2/2008 15:35 | Yes - I day trade. Got out too early. But small profit. I was going to short it at 800 but having got out at 796 I sensibly did nothing... If it goes to 900 it is definately a short opportunity. Note my comments three clicks above. This is a very volotile share, ripe for day trading, spread betting, even trading. Currently though, misled you a few sentences above, I am spread betting it. Comes to the same thing for the same principles apply, whatever those are. | mrtravels
19/2/2008 15:17 | A great day to day trade but got caught out in the last big fall so sold out at 690 about a week ago........sodds law its back up to 840 today.........will get back in after a few days of falls, it then seems to turn and go north again....good luck | aspers
19/2/2008 14:19 | Doing well today, does anyone day trade this share? | valtee
01/2/2008 09:25 | Now back to 700. I find it hard to call now because that leap rather took me by surprise... lucky I was at the keyboard during the 30 second or so event... as a spread betting instrument it is a perfect share... fundamentals are good but volotile as mentioned above. I would hazard it will get up to the 800s again when it will be ripe for a short position. Important to keep an eye on copper prices because I perceive a direct link... copper has recently been talked down but I do not buy this with the demands from India and China. This is as share you can make useful money with on a daily business... lose it too. | mrtravels
01/2/2008 08:48 | Nice one MrTravels :-)missed it myself | dasein
01/2/2008 08:16 | Wow did you catch that spike this morning... got out at 747 and it was sniffing at 800 for a few seconds... I sold 1/3 of my holdings at 747, bought at647 the day before. There is a god. | mrtravels
23/1/2008 11:05 | This is an exiting an volotile stock. Did the same yesterday as Davius but got out at 601. Today in at 606 (mistake) and 585... missed 575 by going for a damned coffee. Copper itself off best of the morning... but still think this share will get to 800 plus during the year... the question is where is its copper plated bottom - could not resist that. As a day trade it can be a beauty. | mrtravels
23/1/2008 10:04 | I trade this one from time to time. That dip was too tempting for me, bought in at 571.89p. Recovered well but falling again now, although I think I'll hang on to see if we head back up towards 600p again. L2 showing buy volume around 260K, sell volume 150K. | davius
21/1/2008 21:45 | skarim - where did you get that nonsense from? Do you all notice how over the the last couple of days there is a growing flap that copper will fall... I expect it will, everything else has. Does the world really think that because some greedy prats in USA banking and debt insurance get it monstrous wrong out of utter stupidity that China and India will stop expanding!!! The most fabulous buying opportunity is unfolding before our very eyes. | mrtravels
21/1/2008 19:57 | Can anyone confirm if theres a bid? £8.00 a share | skarim
17/1/2008 11:12 | In fact I did nothing of the sort and got out completely... dsb's view seems more accurate. In and out and round about in the 570-90s at the moment... amazing... | mrtravels |
