This is a volotile stock...ranging in last few months from 590 to 850. Linked with movement of copper. If copper ups so will ANTO. But it is fast and furious. Hot copper burns fingers. There has been resistance at 630-630. Long is the play. Unless copper drops it will not go to 600 (dsb104's target. I am in at 633 and 653... will buy at 10 point intervals down and sell post 690 at 10 point intervals. But if copper rises will widen sell to 20 point intervals. Also railway situation needs to be watched, but this appears to have gone cool as a threat to the price. American market threat is counterbalanced by the continuing need for copper in India and China. Those sleeping giants have been rudely woken - Napoleon did warn us.

Gone long here at 638p, might fall further, but i am happy with my price.

Looks like its holding up well today despite the turmoil in the US markets. I would like to pick it up close to £6, as I think the graph looks like a h&s pattern and will probably base there.

As well as the copper (and moly) price , the gold price is becoming increasingly significant for Antofagasta with Esperanza (197,000 oz p.a.) and Reko Diq, where its partner is Barrick.

Found this which is interesting considerong where they are based it would logic to get Anto its virtually next door!:

Xstrata topped the blue-chip leaderboard, surging 383 pence to 3,771, with traders pointing to rumours that Brazil's CVRD may be mulling a takeover bid for the British miner.

Antofagasta climbed 58 to 812, Vedanta Resources was up 117 at 2,388, while Lonmin took on 145 to 3,365.

Astol No by the time i managed to log on my share account it dropped like a stone! Manipulated market this is! Unfortunately I cant keep an eye on it other things to do like full time job ;-)

Well, I bought ftse put covered warrants today when the ftse was around the 6550 mark. So I hope these will prove profitable. Think the market has pre-ejaculated on a massive rate cut next week by the fed, i think they'll sell the fact, so gearing up for that.

End of day dsb a profit is a profit! Be happy what you have. I am sure you will find a decent an entry point. I think this share is one of great ones to daily trade by the looks of it.

I am tempted to sell as us farm roll were not as bad may be not to warrant 0.5 cut by fed? I think the market wont like what may happennext week ?

On the other hand though there is a vague rumour going around, mmm, decisions decisions!
