1347: no, it was $20mm. It would have been cheaper than the net cost of the £12mm. they’ve had from the Lenders, once you factor in the cost of the delays - not to mention the interest rate etc. It would also have given them that nice buffer which financiers prefer, what? This is not taking into account the opportunity cost of missing the current prices for all that gas they should have been producing in August 2020.

JT It is somewhat curious, is it not, as to why anyone would be talking to a bank for a £20 m loan (allegedly) in March 2020 having just issued a formal RNS referencing a CPR in March 2020 that showed the Capex costs to first gas at circa £2.5 m isn't it? I wonder if they've stopped laughing yet at the Bank?

Angus Energy Plc

("Angus Energy", "Angus" or the "Company")

Re-evaluation of Lidsey Field (PL 241)

Angus Energy plc (AIM: ANGS) is pleased to share with investors an update on recent work done by the Company on reprocessing and reinterpreting the Lidsey seismic data. As previously mentioned on the 22nd of February one of the conclusions of the work is that previous seismic mapping failed to define the reservoir accurately.

The Company therefore acquired a new line of seismic data to link existing seismic lines across the structure in the vicinity of the two existing wells. This work went very smoothly and was accomplished using a very simple low cost but high-quality method. When the data from the new line became available all of the existing seismic lines were reprocessed to a uniform standard.

Subject to some further work on the processing particularly processing to depth, Angus are now in a position to reinterpret the seismic, using the new data, with the aim of remapping the structure. The preliminary work suggests that the historical mapping should be discarded and the structure mapped afresh using the new data and with further work to tie in two historical wells nearby at Middleton and Pagham (outside of the Lidsey Field) to provide depth and structural control. This additional data should provide a more complete picture.

George Lucan, CEO, comments: "Whilst the Company views these oil producing fields as essentially legacy assets, and clean gas and geothermal as our primary focus, we remain committed to good husbandry of all of our sites and extracting maximum value for shareholders and expect this work to advance that goal.

Progress continues with Saltfleetby procurement with no significant deviations from timing or budget but with a significantly improved gas price environment. Additionally the Company looks forward to updating shareholders on its geothermal projects at the end of the month."

Qualified Person's Statement:

Andrew Hollis, the Technical Director of the Company, who has over 40 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, has approved the information contained in this announcement. Mr Hollis is a Fellow of the Geological Society and member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

But as you say, shareholders were fortunate that the Company had at the helm an acknowledged finance expert who proved equal to his task, and promptly and in a timely manner negotiated the competitive and affordable terms which you have detailed. I mean to say---We have the finance in place, George will be measured on his delivery. With gas front page and business page news he simply has to deliver

Still some seem to believe that it was a masterclass in Corporate Financing to be able to negotiate a £12 million loan with only a 12% margin over LIBOR-----I would not call it a master class but somebody stumping up 12m on a 7m mcap shares is good going in my book

Yes, quite. My favourite was His Lordship’s description of their negotiations last year with the bank that was keen to offer them the money they needed for Poundland. Talks finished in the late Summer and the only reason for the failure to bring them to a successful conclusion was that the bank’s minimum lending amount was $20mm. Excellent stuff, that. But as you say, shareholders were fortunate that the Company had at the helm an acknowledged finance expert who proved equal to his task, and promptly and in a timely manner negotiated the competitive and affordable terms which you have detailed. I see, it's a play on words rather than a typo of Codswallop.

Yes we know RNS announcements generally only paint the picture they want to paint.

For example this one:

"At this stage the Directors are confident that reconnection at commercial rates is possible within the £2.5 million budget and advised timescale of completing work between May and August 2020."

Still some seem to believe that it was a masterclass in Corporate Financing to be able to negotiate a £12 million loan with only a 12% margin over LIBOR, a 3% commitment fee payable out of the facility, a share grant of 30 million shares in Angus, issued over the life of the facility and an override of 8% on gross revenue following repayment of the facility. Not to mention being forced to hedge 70% of production and yet still have to do several placings.

1347: Couldswallop (more correctly “Cudswallop221;, but I enjoy CQ’s posts so have paid him this compliment) is drivelling nonsense contributed on chat sites by ignoramuses, apparently in support of their nonsensical investment strategies.

They’ve increased the staff as they’re training people in safety procedures etc., against the chance they may one day produce some gas, so presumably they’re hot-desking in the Chiswick office they gave up a year ago, what?

I have an idea why they haven’t updated the market on these two matters, yes. They fit into a subset of the category that includes “Lidsey back in the frame”, Brockham in general, SF07, the Chiswick office, the EA approval application, Directors’ share purchases, Jonathan’s function, the purchase of Doriemus’s minority interests in one or two defunct sites, the terms of the hedges and the identity of the counter-party(ies).. perhaps you can suggest another one?

Point of order JT, can you enlighten me as to what Couldswallop is?

PS: Is the shared id a result of the cost cutting measures Anguish told us about?

PPS: Any idea why they haven't updated market about the legal claims and/or the Balcombe appeal?

Frenetic pump & dump in play at the moment IMHO.

Buyer Beware!

LTH's know the patter off by heart and recognise the all too familiar signs:

1) Cheerleaders spouting 4p tomorrow.

2) Multiple "Brand new" ID's popping up (fresh as horse sh*t) on various BB's spouting "4p tomorrow"... "I'm topping up"... "don't miss out"... etc...etc...

3) Malcy - or some other puff piece interview - spouting the "usual" AIM promises which are rarely if ever kept.

4) RNS lands with news of a DISCOUNT PLACING.

That's the M.O of "Pump & dump" on AIM in 4 simple stages.

CQ ;-)

Yes... it's almost as if he lends his log-in to someone with a greater grasp of the English language now and again. I've seen this a lot on bulletin boards.

Regardless of who is posting Couldswallop on the day though, their arguments and reasoning are always skewed in favour of an imminent share price rocket... been like this for months & months & months now and still not a speck of genuine Market interest here.

The lid on the lobster pot is closing imminently IMHO - no wonder he's prattling like a madman. He's clearly fearful of seeing his trading pot pilfered by yet another discount placing!
