you could well be right hvs as it will take a while for AEP to reap the benefit of the new plantations; I've certainly no plans to sell my holding here atm

This is a further five year investment. I have been holding for 5 already.

the formation of the triangle on the chart which I first mentioned on the 6 May has continued:

generally this kind of triangle formation is broken in the direction of the preceeding trend

thanks... still pretty poor pricing though

rea.co.uk gives a long-term chart...

palmoilprices.net... just gives today's price

palmoil.com one gives about a year of prices

just quite weak and would like something more substantive... i.e. like there is for the BDI index see GOC epic link in advfn...

looking at the chart this kid of volatility is not unusual so could easily bounce back up tomorrow and continue to form a triangle

you would have thought that now the PO share price price has settled - then the AEP share price would do the same. but looking at the graph since the start of the year - its all over the place. sold 50% of mine at 592p last week but might look to buy a few more in the low 500s

It seems logical to me that depreciation is a lot higher than in 2006. After all, they have an extra plant (Bina Pitri I thought) to depreciate, as well as some expansions on existing plants.
The loan to the minority shareholder seems to be of minor significance...

kind regards.

My feeling is that we will get very good press at Interim result time.

Just hold and wait. This is going places. Next results will be up at least 30-40% on last year.

Scottish, no worries, its a key holding in my SIPP, so I will be keeping a keen eye on the sector and AEP for quite a while yet..I'm not that old yet !

lobby - yes it's very similar I know but a useful summary - couldn't find anything else except for that Sharecast piece in the news but maybe something more interesting will appear over the next few days

bounty - thanks for your post, but that piece is just lifted straight from the company's results statement of yesterday, which we were already aware of.
Would have been nice to have some press comment, but as it is AEP is so far below the radar that - on quite a slack day for results - even the FT doesn't even bother to report the figures.

Assuming no one has an answer to my questions then, no worries!

Best of luck all.
