Interesting that those stocks directly and now indirectly related to BitCON are now in a bear market versus their recent high.

Microstrategy, Tesla, Square, Twitter, PayPal, Overstock, Galaxy Digital .. all fairing worse than most in the tech rout, down at least 20% with the 'crypto darling' Microstrategy led by chief BitCON cheerleader Michael Saylor down 50%.

mattjos ... they are celebrating a jobs 'beat' of 379k v 179k.
However what they never do is look at the detail ... over 75% were hospitality, waiters and bar tenders. These will be people called back to jobs that were being furloughed due to Covid .. not new jobs, only a modest amount of manufacturing jobs were created.

What they should be concerned about is the bars and restaurants that won't be there and will never be coming back.

No one on CNBC has mentioned the new weekly jobless claims that have averaged 800,000 every week for nearly a year.

The moment the UK market closed, the Dow started to get bought & rose 700 points from 4.30pm our time to their market close. There's no way that is 'by chance' or on fundamentals or a news event. That is surely PPT in action & how many times have we seen that now?People say the Gold & Silver markets are manipulated but, Friday would suggest all markets are manipulated at times. Is that the signal to other markets around the world?

I've just had a glance at the relevant section of the rns which as you are aware states:
"Based on 3D seismic data, future development locations are anticipated to be positioned structurally up-dip by as much as 1,000 feet from the Chinook-1 well to evaluate the sub-thrust sheet in an optimal structural position."
To my mind it's simply a distance of circa 300 metres from the existing Chinook well.
I'd have thought a sidetrack will be the order of the day targetting 300m up-dip from the original bore.
PB probably expressed the distance in feet to keep everyone guessing. He's obviously fishing for questions for next week :)

Bloodbath in tech stocks across the pond which does have an effect here. Baby definitely out with the bath water in some cases. Market needed a pullback but although not as savage here, we have still seen a lot of stocks pulled back over the past six weeks. Bad day for me, portfolio down 5% and 10% on the week. Time for beer and wine, I need both tonight 🍷🍺

KS,

I was begining to doubt myself as there had been mention from the company that we were not well testing.
The first time, he told us on 15th Jan, that we were not testing. So, I was begining to think that since nothing had been said, we were actually testing.

Have not thought about the RNS in detail yet. Have not been following what has been said on the BB today. Would need to look at Pro's BB which has the detail.

My GUESS at the moment.

They have got oil...100% fact......this is a massive plus for the share.

The bottom section has been pluged and abandoned. This is because that section of the well was ont comercial. It was not commercial because there was too much water in the produced fluid (oil/water).

Each oil reservoir has a oil/water interface. The oil floats on top of the water. My guess is they are in the water phase of the reservoir. Hence all the water they were getting when they flowed this section of the well.

I think this (in water phase) because " Based on 3D seismic data, future development locations are anticipated to be positioned structurally up-dip by as much as 1,000 feet from the Chinook-1 well to evaluate the sub-thrust sheet in an optimal structural position."

We can argue about just what this means, as per Spangle and Pro on the BB. Is it 1000ft vertical or 1,000ft up the "up-dip" in the reservoir..... or is it, 1000ft away, up-dip, on the ground, from the Chinook-1 location.
There is something about a fault here as well....not sure.

To me, they are saying that, the 3D seismic is telling them that if they dril 1,000ft away.....they will be in a "optimal structural position"...ie in the oil phase of this reservoir.....that is, this sub-thrust.

A question for PB on the 10th.

=====
Further up they also have oil, and they are testing this section now. Will it have too high a water content.....dont know.

Hi 11%,

Thanks for that info. I do recall reading on ADVFN and LSE about a possible delay due to rig equipment still being with BP, so did half brace myself for further delays, although hoped it was not true, given the revised Feb 1st timeline provided after the first, pre-Xmas, delay!

I agree that it is frustrating and poor guidance/comms from the Company, although PB may have been slightly mislead himself?

We're told today that ALL REQUIRED equipment is 'expected' to be on location in the next 10 days, so whatever drilling rig that is, I shall take PB at his word that we will shortly start testing the gas zones. Presumably results will start coming in mid-late April after 30 days or so of testing?

Hopefully we get further clarification next week during the presentation.

Do you have any thoughts on the technicals of the RNS i.e the EWT and test of the sub-thrust and what that might mean for Cascadura Deep - people seem to have a divided opinion on the TXP thread. Thanks.

Agreed wan, i was buying TXP yesterday....and will be buying next week....when thre is some sort of low established.

We now have oil....sweet, API35 (light)...as well as gas.

The big thing in the RNS for me was the new drilling rig contract. We are now going to have a rig that can drill to the deapths required instead of fukcing about.
It means we can also drill to depth on the old legacy oil fields....as per the RNS.

TXP price reaction doesn't surprise me in the slightest, very typical of this game, could be nothing more than traders buying in prior to news causing the rise yesterday and today they've had to get out sharpish as these things always take longer to develop that Mr Market thinks,,,, well that's been my experience thus far anyhow fwiw :-),,,, LOL,,, so, as a LTH I will sit and watch for a dip to add,,, GLA Cheers Wan :-)

It's the reserve banks who own the FED that call the shots, the FED is their tool. Perhaps those banks are now positioning themselves for the inevitable crash? I suspect it's these reserve banks who are currently taking unprecedented amounts of physical delivery in gold and copper.
