21/11/2020 13:14 | great posts guys, thanx,,,, if odsjp is up for it,,, I think Mj's suggestion is a great idea and should be applauded,, he is so right,,, and I firmly believe we should all have cash as part of our strategy,,, goes without saying that holding cash whilst the whole market takes a dive is a shrewd move if you can buy back in around the lows..... but, it's up to you odsjp :-) Cheers Wan :-) | wanobi
21/11/2020 11:39 | Only ever come across the word rayon in reference to the fabric, thanks to Wikipedia... Raion Description A raion is a type of administrative unit of several post-Soviet states. The term is from the French "rayon", which is both a type of a subnational entity and a division of a city, and is commonly translated in English as "district". Wikipedia | bleepy
21/11/2020 11:09 | Mattjos It would create far too much work for odsjp, who has already done an incredible job, but an interesting angle to the competition, would be the opportunity to revert a share to cash on any day during the week in question. | captain james t kirk
21/11/2020 10:25 | It's a competition so, i assume entrants fancy having a crack at winning / Getting near the top of the list. There are times when cash outperforms the market and if you can identify when that might be then, you may only achieve a Zero % but, that might be better than everyone else | mattjos
21/11/2020 10:23 | Not expecting a crash just yet but, sometimes sensible to just be holding cash while you wait for something to come to you. Eg. That period between Xmas and New Year is so often a thinly traded period where many fund managers conduct year end selling for the purposes of 'dressing' their figures. Does not make sense to be fully invested at times like that when the short-term trend is so often flat to down. | mattjos
21/11/2020 10:04 | Hi Mattjos, That is a question I didn't expect. Sound like you are expecting a crash. No problem with me to have some in cash or invested in commodities (I see from your posts zinc and gold are a favourite) should you prefer but that would be one of the three choices, so you could do a combo. | odsjp
21/11/2020 10:03 | Where is the fun in that :) | bazboa
21/11/2020 09:54 | Do we have to stay fully invested in the competition, each & every week? Are we able to allocate some funds to cash? | mattjos
21/11/2020 09:39 | Thanks for the link 11_percent. Love it. The halo is coming off the golden boy. My wife is Canadian so often go out there to visit family. An amazing country. | odsjp
21/11/2020 09:39 | Would you please put all my money in PANR next week please odsjp. The placing at 31p killed me last week but the floor is in and I am expecting a strong rebound over the next weeks. | fozzie
21/11/2020 09:28 | Good luck KS,I will have my fingers crossed for you. Putting all your eggs in one basket is a huge risk although it is working (at the moment) for mattjos, celeritas and chrisalis1 and I know you have your crown to lose... I am going to keep with my strategy of holding two shares for a period until they hopefully move up with the third as the wild card. I will probably stick with AAZ and CGNR as both are due news and a rerate and look for a third share. My problem as an investor is that I am impatient and normally see opportunities too quickly, buy into them, get bored and move onto something else only for then it to move up. My personal goal for the comp is to show a good return when compared to my peers and hopefully end up in the top half of the table. Now where do I find the next RMS, NCYT | odsjp
21/11/2020 09:13 | Really hope so too as been disappointing this year compared with other miners. | pratt2
21/11/2020 08:30 | Golden cross on AAZ chart, hopefully all the stars are aligning. Would be nice to finally reach the 200p mark early next year | bazboa
21/11/2020 06:32 | And there is whatever there is left to find at Heyvali, even if it’s just free parts... | thistimemaybe
21/11/2020 01:28 | I think you are absolutely correct with what you are saying. Laugh at your Great post(s) once again. | aosullivan
20/11/2020 21:46 | Odsjp, I think I am going to switch tactics and 'gamble' all my stack on just RBD for next week - they are now 45 days through an appraisal well, which is expected to take 6-10 weeks for results, so results could drop at any time now over the next couple of weeks. Nothing really in the price for a successful appraisal of a v large oil/gas discovery that they have 56% interest in. Fingers crossed. Thanks | king suarez
20/11/2020 21:00 | Week 2 results are in: Winning shares of the week: 1. AVCT (up 21.5%). Congrats to a number of you for keeping the faith. 2. VRS (up 19%). Congrats to chrisalis1 3. ARB (up 17.36%). Congrats to pogue, 11_percent and fez 4. GFM (up 16.67%). Congrats to mattjos and celeritas Winners of the week 1. chrisalis1 up 19% with VRS 2. mattjos and celeritas up 16% with GFM 3. fez up 9.2% with DDDD and ARB 4. Closely followed by King Suarez up 9.14% with ALTN, AVCT and ACP. Interesting to note that the top 2 weekly winners had only the one share Overall winners 1. mattjos extends his lead with £38K 2. celeritas follows with £35K 3. Chrisalis1 in 3rd with £32K. Again noticeable that 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall is due to investors picking one (fortunately good) share being GFM and VRS rather then splitting. Reminds me of the Dirty Harry films. Do you feel lucky punk. Week 2 - Results | odsjp
20/11/2020 17:26 | Thanks for reply JB My guess is likewise, that the question of devolution won't be addressed until, at very least, the 7 erstwhile occupied rayons surrounding the - now much reduced - core of NK province are fully secured by Ajerbaijan; ditto for the NK province territory 'conquered' by the Azerzi Army - Shusha etc. Also, as you say, all of the NK region be emptied of the Armenian military. Will that process be completed by NY though? Just wonder if some diehards, the local 'militia', won't cave in completely immediately after the regulars have departed. That process may take several months? May be protracted for as long as Russia is perceived to entertain a stance sympathetic to NK province [albeit now reduced] having at least a degree of self determination. [See below]. The departure of the Armenian army proper does seem to be well underway; the 'retreat' from Agdam rayon + rest of Eastern/Northern 'line of contact' is very evident and that was where the bulk of the regulars were entrenched in their 'Maginot Line'. I'm a bit uneasy about the Turkish military coming in and policing; suppose OK if all Armenians have vacated where they patrol. Then again why will they then be required, other than as observers? The limits of Russian involvement don't seem to me to be conclusively defined. Putin said, as quoted by RT 18Nov. : "Despite the truce agreement, Putin maintains this is not the final chapter in deciding the destiny of the disputed region. “The final status of Karabakh has not been settled,” he explained. “We agreed that we will maintain the status quo that exists today, what will happen next is to be resolved in the future.” " | 2sporrans
