Week ahead - looking for Orph to keep breaking out, suspect it has legs, mcls to make a move above the 200ma and consolidate. starting to really like the look of Beg. Obviously there’s a reasonable chance of an rns for 4d as well.

Walter

I have read about the deflationary pressure that advancing computer power poses. However surely that can only come to fruition with a stable monetary system in place. I imagine it could put pressure on peoples wages and bring the costs down for certain products.

There are different interpretations of inflation of course. I am in the camp of its mainly influenced by an increase in the money supply. History seems to support this view.

After 2008 inflation did not occur across the board but was localized in things like real estate and university fees. I think this time it will be the commodities that see inflation.

If things got really bad in the US, Trump could then justify postponement of the election. Could this be part of 'the plan'?

He could then still enjoy power for up to two years, before trying for another four at The White House.

A little item making out that gold ETF's are rising in popularity in China whilst physical demand is falling. I wonder if this is a bit of 'soft' manipulation? Haven't they heard about the CME being unable to fulfil physical delivery? :¬) Paper gold is just that. it's paper!

Cybernest53, Andrew Cuomo does is a more stable character, less prone to pointless comments simply to massage his own ego.
Now a meat shortage in some supermarkets in USA, that will cause political issues one way or another. lol

Digger. Thanks. Fraid so. Trader365 is a sociopath and psychopath.
He is ruining every board he goes to. He was here as well trying to talk the share price down with claims production was going to be stopped.

In his eyes he is always right and everyone else is wrong but he doesn't acknowledge that traders have short term horizons whereas the majority of posters on these PM BB are investors (who may do some trading) who don't care about the price tomorrow or next week but have investment horizons of years.

I may be wrong when I say this MF, but, I don't think so, not exactly anyhow....

happy to be corrected on that :-)

If simply inhaling Laughing Gas can kill the virus in the lungs that would be such a simple way to treat the problem I would think,,,, again, I am no medic, so happy to be corrected....

Cheers

O/T Just read "The Price of Tomorrow" by a well known tech entrepreneur Jeff Booth. The basic premise of the book is the exponential growth in computing power (doubling every 18 months) is HUGELY deflationary. I highly recommend it. You can also find him on twitter @jeffbooth

Preliminary data has suggested that inhaled nitric oxide could have a virus-killing effect on the coronavirus, Massachusetts General Hospital says in an online statement.

It is due to the genomic similarities between Covid-19 and those that caused the SARS and MERS outbreaks. Studies during the SARS outbreak in 2004 to 2005 demonstrated that nitric oxide was effective in killing that virus.

Certainly some day to day behaviours in there I recognise in myself Rb, LOL,, and actually those behaviours have been amplified as I sit at home in lock-down............... and also exacerbated by the recent trading I've been doing, which,,, for me goes against the LTH mentality, but, right now has been very profitable indeed... so, right now I'm both investor & trader which does cause some internal conflict........ :-) :-)

In regard to my long term investments (not trades), immediately, I will be reducing the amount of time I spend reinforcing my investment decision with evermore research.... :-)

I shall be actively cutting out the noise and focusing on the signal, I shall spend much less time looking at the day to day share price movements of my LTH and indeed to cut out thinking about them....... :-)

I shall take a more general overview of the world each day, just looking for the longer term trend and switch off the CNBC & Bloomberg I currently have running all day in the background.... :-)

I will start that 'investment diary' which I know I should have done yonks ago,, record the key 5 or so decision making points I used to decide to buy into the companies I hold for the LT..... at the date/time I did so,,, and then review against those periodically as time goes by to see what's changed.... :-)

I shall be asking myself the question,,, would I buy into this company again, now,,, if my current holding had mistakenly just been sold in its entirity :-)

I shall weed out the trades I have running (not difficult to do) and make sure I take profits or losses on those quickly,,, not holding on to them...

I shall recount the words of Kenny Rogers in the Gambler,,,

You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run

and so, so much more :-) LOL.....

NOT least of which,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

'Health is your real Wealth'..........

(not from the book, but something Andy Cole (yep, the footballer) said on TV this am which I liked,,, we all know it,,, but, perhaps, certainly in my case,,,, need to say it to ourselves regularly)

Thanx again Rb,
Cheers
Wan :-)

Also it is £15.52 for a minimum of 25 x 1oz coins. They don't quote for 1 coin but it would be much higher plus VAT plus packaging and delivery. £20+?

Atkinsons: £22.31 incl VAT

Andrew Cuomo the New York state Governor would make a much better fist of it than Biden in my opinion... but that would require Biden resigning and the Democratic Convention nominating Cuomo... and for him to accept of course! The polls hugely favour Cuomo! All very unlikely but in this bonkers world... who knows what's going to happen next! :@:@

Wan funny you say that, I have a writing book with bullet notes I make for all the “investment type” books I read, I re-evaluate my notes each time I read them. Probably going to look at another tomorrow. Will let you know if it’s interesting.

Today I painted a ceiling and sat in the sun this afternoon doing a bit of trading and drinking a lot of Italian wine, so I’m now going to have water and watch a film. My eldest fancies Olympus has fallen, why not. Might go back on the wine before bedtime. Ciao

Yes as long as he gets re elected. He is very aware that only 1 president in 7 got re elected in a downturn so people need to get back to work to turn things around for him.
Very dangerous man to have in charge.
